Anyway TPs to all for sticking it out! It was fugly but it's the first game, let's see how we rebound against the defending champs on Friday

Siakam will score 30 on us and prove he deserves 130 m while JB will suck again and give us a pedestrian 12 point 4 reb performance.

JB played well in the minutes he was able to play.  The refs took him out of the game with a series of really bad, tickytack calls.

JB's decision making wasn't too good either.
I found it decent, you're not going to make dazzling passes when you're the fifth option on the court lol.

It's not just the passes.

There were times when Brown just had to shoot the 3 instead of faking to drive then end up passing the ball again.
That wasted seconds on the shot-clock.

Hayward was great btw, thought he was still a bit too passive when he got into the paint but excellent start to the season for him.

Hayward needs to be the guy for them along with Walker.  Tatum needs to defer or they need to move him.

LOL Tatum is barely 21 and Brad cannot control him. What a joke.
Tatum isn't nearly as good as many think he is.

Of course he is. He just isn't being put in a position to show it. It's Kyrie's Kobe's Brad's fault.

In all seriousness, I hope he figures out his game sooner rather than later. He's got the talent, starting to wonder about what's going on between the ears though.

On the brightside, I liked what I saw from Hayward tonight. Getting into the paint and getting to the line. And I don't believe Kemba will be this bad again.
Tatum could be 35 years old playing exactly like this, and people on this site would still be blaming Kyrie/Kobe/Brad/Refs/ball inflation.

That's what happens when you have too many players of the same kind.

In the last few minutes of the 4th, Celts had 1 PG and 4 wing players on the court.

All wings and no quality big man will not make you a championship team.

Not too worried. C's looked like they were pacing themselves tonight....didn't want to get tired. Long Season, NBA players don't play hard all the time, been to a few games.

Hayward played well. Walker really sucked. Tatum got enough rebounds not to embarrass himself.

Uh the other two wings on the Celtics pretty much did that as well, and it's difficult to shoot right off the catch when you have no rhythm at all from not touching the ball for minutes aside from passing it back to teammates off inbounds. It wasn't the best game for Jaylen, but I didn't find it bad from what I've watched.

If they hit a normal percentage of free throws and Jaylen doesn’t get into foul trouble we would’ve been fine. Most pleasant surprise was that Embiid and Horford weren’t a huge mismatch.
They didn’t play their best either so you can play that game if you want but doesn’t matter.

I guess - but I was saying we’d be in it even if we shot that putrid percentage from 3. I was afraid of being outclassed down low, but I don’t see it.

Ya he was fine, he passed up two potential threes that he maybe could have taken, but they also weren't gonna be wide open either. I thought he at least got to the rim well. Hard to tell how he played given the foul trouble.

FTs were still bad, 1-3.

That's where Jaylen really needs to improve.

The final score was 107-93.
Celts were just 20-34 from the FT line.
Missed FTs really killed the Celts in this game.

I know he had 21/10, but Tatum was frustrating tonight. Not good. His extremely poor shot selections late in the 1st half killed our offense and basically made a 6 point lead become a 1 point deficit in just 2 minutes.

Same thing as last year. Too much settling for jumpers and less aggression when driving.

That's why Tatum is EXPECTED to become a star player.
He's not yet there.

Sooner than later, Tatum will become the star we all expected.

Tatum has to go through the ups and downs of the NBA.

Hope so. They got rid of Kyrie, and also Rozier who by all accounts was an ego in the locker room. But that doesn't change much if Tatum and Brown don't take the leaps. Now or never guys...

Yep - Danny has handed the team over to them and it's time for them to become All-Star caliber. Not tonite.

It was sneaky good. Didn’t seem like he was doing a lot then I looked at the box. Let the game come to him, mostly.

In the meantime, Kyrie went for 50 tonight and the Nets still lost

again I blame Brad the most

Robert Williams should have played more mins.  Poirier should have got some mins... no size vs trees of the 76ers.

Celts got zero production off the bench.  Semi and Wannamaker is not going to cut it. Brad needs to give the green light

to Edwards, Langford, Waters.... rookies or not, thats all he has to work with in terms of bench depth
