i think tacko has made 3 or 4 cav players decide to stop their drive to the basket and back the ball out.
Have noticed that for stretches in every game he's played so far.
If you look at the total period he's been on the court during the preseason, I think there have only been maybe 3 or 4 total attempts to drive in to the paint over a stretch of maybe 25-30 total minutes. Once he gets on the court teams have a tendency to start settling for jumpers.
To be fair he is also coming in at the very end of games when other teams mostly have their lowest tier guys on the court, but still an interesting observation. Once he gets more reps and the game starts to become more instinctive to him, I can see him have a pretty significant impact on the game for the stretches that he's out there.
Would be interesting to have him out on the court when playing against somebody like Giannis, who really depends a lot on his ability to get in to the paint and use his athleticism and physicality to either overpower people or just straight up shoot over them. He might not be able to do that all that effectively with a guy like Taco in the middle.
