I actually had Jones as #2 on my list, but Who did not draft #1 so with that.

The Portland Trailblazers for pick 7.6 will select 4-time DPOY Ben Wallace.

This is a departure for the offense heavy Trailblazers, but Wallace definitely fits a need and can still pull down the boards and outlet with the best of them.  We anticipate him being able to defend not only centers but also many of the power forwards in this league and believe he can easily play with any of the other 3 big men on the team creating a nice synergy with whomever he is out there with.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Surprised that, IMO, a better center, a great two way center, is still on the board and has been bypassed by lesser big men.

With the 7th pick of the 7th round of the Celticsstrong Historical Draft 2019 the Miami Heat select PF Bobby Jones

In today's NBA Bobby can easily guard 2-4s with that wiry frame of his.

Additionally - his 6th man of the year award will fit in nicely with Manu.

Hm interesting...I think I know who you're referring to. Not too sold on him though, I think specialists at this point are more valuable.

Yeah was seriously looking at grabbing him yesterday before I selected Manu.

Since Bobby Jones was taken, and I have no prepared post for the guy, I'll just go simple.

For pick 7.8, the Detroit Pistons selects tough nosed, hard as nails, super competitor, Alonzo Mourning.

I might actually start him over Dikembe.

For me, I wanted a guy that I thought could play PF and when talking about the bench, in particular, I think a "role" player is a better fit.  But yeah, Ben Wallace was not the "best" big man available (it was Mourning in my mind), but he was in my mind the best defensive and rebounding big man available (and frankly might be right there with Bill as the best in the history of the game).  You just don't need 10 people that are great 2-way players, you need the specialists and for me no one available was even close to Ben Wallace in both defense and rebounding.

With the 7(9) pick in the historical draft the Spurs select one of the most tenacious defenders of all time.

A man who managed to gobble rebounds like few others could, and whose defense was second to none.

Arguably the greatest defender to ever man the PF spot (absolutely top 3) and one of the hardest workers the league has ever seen. His defense is likened to Denis Rodman, before there was the worm. He routinely defended the opposing teams best forward and made life for them a nightmare.

His offense was better than Rodmans and could go for 20 on any given night. He had the ability to get hot from deep, but most of his offense cam from an uncanny ability to read the play and make sneaky cuts to the rim.

with the 7(9) pick the spurs select their starting PF: the big D

You should. Alonzo is the better player.
