I don't know if Pettit will start, be 6th man, or be traded.  But I couldn't pass up on a guy who I thought was by so far and away the BPA.
Yeah solid pick.  There is another guy or two out there that could easily be argued as a better player, but Petit is definitely in that discussion.

Pettit has one of the most interesting skillsets for an old school PF though, he was an Oreb savant and a great outside shooter.

Yeah I don't expect everyone to agree with him as BPA, but I thought he was.  Def another guy who could be in the conversation.

Thanks for the nod.  Tough and had a nice outside shot for his time.  He got up to I think 240-245 lbs in his career... and never lifted a weight until age 24.  I think he'd be a beast with the prep and training kids come up with today.  And he's a guy who can be clutch (50 points and game-sealing basket in championship clinching Game 6).

I was wondering a few weeks ago if Pettit had the best combination of scoring and rebounding of any PF in the draft.

Strong outside shooter too. He'd do well in today's league. In an interview, he said he would've weighed 260lbs in today's league. He liked lifting weights, getting stronger and improving his stamina and athleticism but he didn't start until he was 25 years old and did so under the objection of the team owner who thought it would screw with his jump-shot.

to be fair lifting actually does screw up with your touch if you don't shoot shortly after lifting

I had him pegged as one of my fourth round pick options, great all round player who imho I'd take over Doctor J in this exercise if not for his injuries. Now crucify me

I thought Pettit was BPA. I would've taken him with the next pick (to be my 6th man) if my small forward hadn't been available.

I debated picking him over Vince. His lack of shooting was a deal breaker, but still a phenomenal pick.
