Somebody said he went to bed so....

With the 2nd pick in the 6th Round of the 2019 Historical Draft the Los Angeles Lakers select:

Steve Nash
Just woke up in the middle of the night and I saw this lol. Does no one rate Nash at all?!
I was surprised he was still on the board. Figured it was bc of defense.

PG is tuff in this format. So many of the greats at all positions are such fantastic playmakers that having a ball dominate PH is irrelevant for some teams.

Great player, good value pick

I believe Nash and Curry could play together as well - in stretches.

Nash was a GREAT pace setter...I remember him vividly either running a fast offense OR slowing stuff down to his OWN pace.

Dude looked like someone I'd pass on the streets or in the mall but easily one of my favorites all time.

They could easily play together in stretches IMO - both of them have that mindset.

Depending on match ups they would punish some teams in this setting.

Nash and Curry together is insane.

The combined shooting power of those two - breathtaking.
...offensively. I just don't see a time in this draft that the both of them could be on the court at the same time.

Their offense would be so good that they might be able to just outscore teams. Double team a lot on defense. Two mobile bigs. Play the passing lanes.

LAL further solidifying itself as a top 3 team in my eyes alongside Philly and Chicago.

Utah should start Pettit at PF. He is too good not be starting. That might make it a four horse race at the top.

Yeah I could see that argument, but only so much usage to go around IMO in the starting 5 and I'd like MJ and Walton to suck up a lot of it.  Mullin will get a lot of offensive action too.  Pettit would be a dominant player starting or off the bench, even moreso off the bench.  Rodman is better utilized defending starting bigs rather than bench bigs I think.

What I'm learning about this game is you have to force adjustments.

If I were coach on the sidelines and saw Curry and Nash together? I'd have to call time-out and make adjustments..would probably have to bring in a defensive stopper off the bench...would definitely have to make adjustments.

In THIS modern NBA? Oh yeah Curry/Nash would force adjustments. All the teams here are forcing adjustments, lol - but especially Curry/Nash.

Klay was most certainly on the table for me this round.  Think he would be great in this setting with defense and shooting off the bench.

That would make for a devastating small-ball team.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I thought about Klay in round 5. I even considered starting him over Hondo. But the fear of losing out on a rim protector made me steer the other way.

Great pick.

There are surprisingly quite a few nuggets like Manu left to fill out benches...even arguably start in most cases. Will be interesting to see if people look hard enough.
