The Lakers just added Cousins and Rondo. They have filled out their roster and barring significant injuries, it looks formidable. Many posters say the Lakers don't have any outside shooting and that opponents will clog the paint. Unfortunately, Danny Green and others will have a ton of uncontested 3s. Even though Utah and Denver have improved, I don't seem them as legit teams to come out of the West. I hate the Lakers but have to admit they are legit contenders to come out of the West.

Gallinari is in OKC

The Clippers have the deeper team, but I don't know that they are all that much better than the Lakers (at least assuming they get some decent PG's).  And it isn't like many teams have players that can guard both Lebron and Davis.  That includes the Clippers who can defend Lebron better than anyone with both Kawhi and PG, but I don't think either of them can guard Davis.  I mean is Harrell or Zubac actually going to defend Davis.  I don't think so.

Kawhi guarded Giannis very well, I suspect he could guard AD as well if asked.

He ought to look in the mirror because his own wash up is coming.

Clippers, IMO.

They STILL have Montrezl Harell, Patrick Beverly AND Louis Williams. Get AI from MEM and another 1-2 decent vets and they are right there...

As I posted in another thread - MASTERFUL moves by Jerry West! "Almost" Auerbachian.

I don't know - I am really not impressed with the trade. I realize Kawhi wanted another star, but the Clips totally got taken to the cleaners. That is literally like the biggest trade package I have ever seen - if almost every good player wasn't a FA this offseason (and just signed new contracts), you have to think they could have done better to keep some of those picks. SGA was already a huge asset.

The trade was basically for the two players, not just PG13. Without pulling the trigger on the trade, they assuredly don’t get Kawhi.

So the trade isn’t that awful in the grand scheme of things, as they are certainly a contender now.

OKC certainly made out well, now they should deal some of their other players (Westbrook May be tough to move but Adams may not be).

The Lakers have been signing players like drunken sailors. They signed McGee again. And now they've signed Cousins. And Rondo. And Green. And who knows who else.  You wonder about their chemistry up front, and where Cousins now is. They aren't getting the pre-achilles player.

Neither are the Nets getting the pre-achilles Durant they just gave a huge contract to-- maybe just to sell tickets in NY and get on TV.

Do the Clippers have room for Avery Bradley?

I think even after adding Kawhi + PG13, people are sleeping on the Clippers.

Remember, they took a healthy Warriors team to 6 games last year, and basically added Kawhi + PG13 while keeping Beverley too. They did lose a few solid pieces like Gallinari and Shai, but they still have great depth overall.

Lakers will be Top-4 in the West, but I see LAC as the 1 or 2 seed and even for the Lakers, their team will have a lot of question marks. Will it be better this time for Rondo, McGee and KCP? How will Cousins look? Also, Lebron's a year older.

I think the Lakers have the better superstar duo, but Clippers have the best player of the two teams and better depth. Also the better coach.

Pretty even.  With how often NBA players get injured lately it seems, I get the feeling that injuries will unfortunately determine which team has more success.

The Clippers won 48 games this past season and pushed the Warriors to six games in the playoffs. They then essentially replaced Danilo Gallinari and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

The answer is the Clippers and it's not even all that close.
