Clippers, IMO.

They STILL have Montrezl Harell, Patrick Beverly AND Louis Williams. Get AI from MEM and another 1-2 decent vets and they are right there...

As I posted in another thread - MASTERFUL moves by Jerry West! "Almost" Auerbachian.

I don't know - I am really not impressed with the trade. I realize Kawhi wanted another star, but the Clips totally got taken to the cleaners. That is literally like the biggest trade package I have ever seen - if almost every good player wasn't a FA this offseason (and just signed new contracts), you have to think they could have done better to keep some of those picks. SGA was already a huge asset.

The Lakers have no depth and the talent gap between their stars and role players are so massive that no one can replace their production unless Vogel can provide a very good system where everyone can excel. Not to mention, father time and history of injuries aren't kind to both Lebron and AD. One of them gets down and their hopes for a championship contention is over.

Lakers and Raptors screwed with one decision

I don't feel bad for the Lakers (obviously), they signed their Hall of Famer last off-season. Both teams are extremely lucky in that they lured a top 3 player to their teams for free, giving them the ability to make outrageous trades for another star. No other teams even had a chance for AD/George. Really interesting the parallels of the two teams - especially given they are both in LA.

James and Davis would, have to play 40 plus mi utes every game, otherwise they will get blown off the court .

Clippers have better better coach, GM , everything , but Lakers as usual got the best center .   All,the centers run to LA ...smh ....NBA needs to find a way to help the small market teams MORE ....like solid cap for big markets and more space for small markets or allow only ONe team in a city .

Clippers = they have a high quality supporting around their stars. The Lakers do not.

It's an interesting trade.  They gave up a record setting haul, but I understand that they viewed it as George and Kawhi coming in (not just George in the trade).

The thing is, I thought the Clippers could have won it all without George.  The media mostly didn't agree with me but I felt like the Clippers were easily as good as the Toronto supporting cast.  But clearly Kawhi was concerned about the Lakers being in the way.  In any case, they are better with George, so it's about going all in.

For the next years they'll have no trouble attracting free agents to play with George and Kawhi.  That will replace all the draft picks they gave up.

I don't have the Lakers being in the top 5 teams as it is right now. Yes, there's the caveat of barring injuries, but history is not on the side of the Lakers with this (AD always seems to be injured) and they have a depleted team right now, can't trust them as it is.

Yeah it was a gross overpay, PG13 alone isn’t worth that
But maybe they had no other choice in order to get Kawhi to join

5 firsts and 2 pick swaps...

The Lakers were a lottery team that gave up assets to trade for Anthony Davis. The Clippers were a playoff team that gave up assets for Paul George and then acquired Kawhi Leonard in free agency. I'm going with the Clippers.

Logo views it as trading for PG and KL, he is right.

I think the Clippers are better. The #1 NBA team right now.

I don't know if the Lakers are any better than the Pelicans were when they had Davis. LJ is aging rapidly. Both him and Davis are injury prone. Lakers are in trouble, in my view.

I  just want to add I think Danny comes out smelling like a rose in all this--keeping his young stars.  But he has to get much stronger up front to contend. That means Williams and/or Tacko have to wall off the paint , block a lot of easy shots, and score a lot of easy shots.

Wonder if Doc told West he was not going to be a part of another rebuild...cough...cough....and then West went guns a blazing to prevent that. Always enjoyable to see Lakers miss out and have a team in the East drop back.

He strung Toronto and Lakers along nicely though as Clippers scrambled to secure this huge trade. Very well done by Clippers barring any serious injury to George or Kawhi in the future.

Lebron must have flipped his lid.

Any teams with big cap space next year if Lebron experiment goes horribly wrong and Davis wants out? GSW with Curry and Clay could be a nice threesome once they trade Russell and maybe not sign Green. Nets have no room. Clippers dont as well.

Clippers are better if healthy.
