I'm not sure why this would be considered a smear campaign, scapegoating, or damage control.  I'm sure the reporters wanted to get some things off their chest and now there is no reason to keep them secret.  I've been waiting for the truth to come out.  I knew it would happen eventually, and I'm glad that I'm getting the info that I've been wanting.  Thank you, reporters.

Whether it was right or wrong at the time, it was kind of nice to hear Rozier not sounding like a robot regurgitating what he was programmed to say also.

I agree it is wrong to call this a smear campaign, just the facts.

In the coming weeks everyone who had an axe to grind with Kyrie be it in the media or affiliated with the Celtics is going to take their shot at him.  Guaranteed.  There will be more stuff like this.

Not that he doesn't deserve it but I think people have been holding back till it was certain he's out of here.

I kinda want Kyrie to pull a Terry Rozier and do media rounds trashing everyone. If people are going to paint him as a villain despite him keeping a relatively low profile and keeping his friends/family from making comments on social media like other players, why bother being polite? Blow it all up.

maybe he does not want to lie.

Lol. Stuff has come out already about the locker room and Brad's favoritism. I don't think it'd be a lie at all. But one party seems to be breaking ties in a clean way and one isn't. For all the hate he gets, Kyrie's camp isn't leaking anything. People close to him aren't posting passive aggressive messages on social media (like Gordon's wife or Al's sister).

I see the flat out hate - genuine hate - he gets on social media. As a high profile black athlete playing in Boston, he could pour gasoline on the fire and have plenty of stuff from the fanbase to back up anything he says at this point. And yet, he doesn't.

What you say presumes that Kyrie has been the actual victim of some wrong.   What, exactly?   For all we know maybe no one ever DID do anything wrong to Kyrie.   Maybe Kyrie hasn't "poured gasoline" because he doesn't have any to pour?

Do this kind of news help? Does it have any meaning to keep bashing KI?

Even if it is 100% fair and true  it is clear that he is gone so why keep  the headlines on him?

We keep bringing back a season we d like to forget in a mazochist kind of way

Well, I concur with that to a point.  Where it does matter is where it concerns the people who aren't gone.  The fans are not gone.  The Celtics organization (Owners, GM, coach & staff) are not gone.  And the remaining players of the team are not gone.

If there are misconceptions out there still lingering about Kyrie that affect the relationships between those people, then it is better to have the truth out to dispel those misconceptions.

Honestly at this point the Kyrie experiment was not for Boston.  I wish him luck.  He's so [dang] amazing to watch and I think as fans all we wanted was for him to bleed green and work out here.  We have been so spoiled with recent players like PP, KG, Smart, IT, Crowder that we expect everyone to be a true Celtic when they are here.  Some players buy in and some do not.  Kyrie wants to call the shots like LBJ does on his teams but Kyrie is not that type of player or leader.  There are things coming out on both ends that could be leaks from the organization and Kyrie's camp.  I'm sure there will be a ton more coming out after Kyrie is gone and the player and team can speak freely.  I think there is a ton of truth to Kyrie's behavior and I think Brad is getting a ton of blame because he's had to coach a player like he's never experience before.  Up until this year no one questioned Danny or Brad.  Now a Kyrie later people want Ainge to retire, Brad to get fired and it's their fault they could not get a egocentric, ornery millennial in line.  Two teams had difficulties with Kyrie.  I don't think Kyrie is a bad person he's just an odd egg who is more misfit then a cohesive part of a team.  The only reason why I'm sad he is leaving is because we are getting nothing in return for him.  I hated watching the C's this year and watching the Celtics is one of my favorite things in my life to do.  I love basketball.  I love Celtic Basketball and I didn't get to watch Celtic Basketball this year because of Kyrie.

Everything is always true if it fits what you want it to. The media never lies. Every word could be the truth or lies and none of us know, but since you aren't a fan of Kyrie, it's all true. Look how many people tried to gauge who the player was that made comments about CBS and look at the names used, people that you either didn't like or ones you just said because they didn't toe the line while here. It's just sour grapes when someone criticizes CBS but all true about Kyrie. Fact is people who like CBS have complained publicly about not having defined roles/too much rotation volatility, IT4 and Jae are just 2 Examples, but for some reason the former Cs must be disgruntled/hating. As I said b4, rozier had every chance to throw Kyrie under the bus, instead he ran over CBS and Hayward.

Kyrie was a part of the problem but he wasn't the only problem and it doesn't matter what happens this season, whether we are good or not because a lot of things could go into that, one major thing is if Hayward is closer to Hayward and not a role player who didn't play any role consistently. (I think he's going to beast, can't wait!)

Stop trying to blame one person, all of it was a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. show! Should have made changes at the deadline because THEY knew what was going on behind closed doors but they let it go on, that's on the higher ups for thinking they'd just flip a switch. Had too many chefs in the kitchen and no one wanted to be the dishwasher. Well, Al was always the dishwasher, janitor, chef, sous chef, waiter etc! He doesn't count, his entire career is do whatever it takes.

Don't forget, the media tried to roll over on IT4 too, but the difference was more people loved him so when the stories weren't getting traction they moved on. Kyrie has more gasoline so the fire will rage on. Funny how that works.

I didn't need them to tell me Kyrie quit, it looked like most of them did and that's a shame! Guys like Al, Baynes and Smart will play poorly but I don't see quit in them. It was terrible to see and hopefully we never see it again! If you say it started with kyrie, that's cool and all but does kyrie put himself on the floor? should have sat him and won without him if we could have. Trying to appease him is your next excuse and that's funny, it's still looking likely we lose him.

Look at Pops, said KL wasn't a leader and how Ujiri came right out to say he is. Don't tell me it was because KL didn't have to be with the Spurs because of Duncan etc., I saw KL leading the Spurs to a route of GSW til he went down. He must have been doing something right, but of course since he left on bad terms they had to get a couple shots in. Matter of fact, the throwing dirt on him by pops and teammates started before he left!

Media is a cold game these days, I remember times where people tried to kill each other, fights in the locker room, sick pleasuring yourself in front of people (nfl), throwing objects at coaches, etc stayed under wraps. Today, people are the scourge of the earth when things leak! MJ and Bird would be destroyed by today's media. Magic Johnson? Oh they would have never let him build that empire had he started in this social media age. Just look how bad a person people made kyrie because he didn't talk to his Cavs teammates when Jordan took the opposite approach and put hands on people!

I won't be mad if kyrie leaves, if he doesn't want to be here, get people who do!

Time to get us back on the playoff winning train since Al arrived! I truly hope he stays! No matter who suits up, we need to find a way to get 18!!

It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
