I don't think Charlotte is going to up their offer for Kemba. They have no salary flexibility if he signs to stay under the tax and they absolutely will not pay the tax. If they won't pay the tax they cannot add pieces to the team.

They currently have 97 million in salary, and that's without Kemba. Add at his max of 32 Kemba and they are essentially at the tax line as is, with Jeremy Lamb their second leading scorer also a FA.

If they wanted to keep Kemba they probably would have been trying to dump salary during the draft, its been reported they weren't doing so.

I think Jordan bends and give Kemba $200/m

No way Michael Jordan pays the luxury tax with a team that probably wont make the playoffs.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

That's a rational way of thinking with no ego involved. Not very Jordan-esque ;)

Source, and please don't say Robot "Deli Guy" Dave.

Edit: based on the wording matching that fraud's tweet from earlier today, it was him. Why do people believe random twitter accounts who have a clear history of just desperately trying to stir things up by guessing all sorts of random rumors.

And kawhi, and al, and vucevic, and each and every free agent. 🙂

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I do hope the Celts have a back-up plan in case they don't sign Kemba.
keep Smart and sign a less expensive big man reclamation project - Nerlens?

Not quite what I had in mind for a back-up plan. More along the lines of a Vucevic, Brogdon caliber player. Not Smart at point guard and Noel at center.

Well, I don't see any confirmation, but this appears to be the Celtics game plan.

Is it also possible that maybe Hayward could be the outgoing piece in a Celtic trade for Caplea?

By dealing Hayward to Philly in a 3 team deal, the Celts would be able to acquire not only Capela, but Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker to shore up our bench.

Why in the world would the Sixers do that?  Hayward is a big negative value contract.

Well if you believe the rumors, Orlando is gonna offer 4 years 90 Million to Vuc.  Would we really go beyond that to sign him?  I mean I like him and Brogdon, but are either one of those guys really on our radar at this point?  Before the report on the 90 mil offer from Orlando was reported there were sites saying DA was interested in Vuc but I haven't read anything recently.

I think if we get Kemba than we won't have any cap to sign him folks.

Unless he accepts an MLE which is very unlikely.
