Pass.....As a back up Center - horrible. I am STILL from the old school where LENGTH matters and Noah is 6-9. He'll get eaten alive by the Embiids of the world.

Decent height and weight matter especially since we are a Kantar shoulder injury away from having no legit BIG on the roster.

We have tons of PFs on the roster (R Williams and Theis) but NO ONE to anchor the middle.

Kanter can handle Embiid

He did 20 rebounds against him/his team not too long ago

I would be more concerned right now in trying to slow down Giannis. Vonleh can be that guy

just curious, but how many "Embiids" are there in the world, let alone the nba? also, who doesn't get eaten up by Embiid? finally, who among the remaining FA are able to resist Embiids ravenous appetite successfully and will sign for the money allotted to the celtics?

thanks.
A player who left us for Embiid's team :'(

Last I check that player got abused by Embiid.

But I think you meant Baynes.  ;D
LOL no, I meant our former unicorn shutdown artist Al Horford. :'(

Is the only thing Celts have left is the vet mins

Or do they have more money to spend due to Rozier S&T?

Semi should be a pretty good Giannis stopper tbh.

Vet mins. If we can't get anyone I suggest looking at Sully (dude has been amazing in China, slimmed down too) or Yi Jianlian.

As things stand right now they only have the vet min.

If they can dump Yabu and renounce Theis they could clear about $5 MM in cap space. They could also do a sign and trade sending Theis out for a more expensive contract (we would probably have to attach a pick). We could also convince Philly to make the Horford deal a sign and trade which would give us a big enough trade exception to add Steven Adams. Apparently, the Nets wanted the Memphis pick in any sign and trade so they aren't a possibility.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yeah I do not doubt 76ers wouldn't ask for similar outrageous price to facilitate the C's adding more talent. No reason to help your competitors for a low first round pick like the Bucks or a protected Celtics one.

Vonleh the exact same size as Horford, actually with longer wing span. Horford defends Embiid well. PS Bill Russell was 6’9”.

Yi has been tearing it up in the CBA and international basketball. Very good stretch 4/5 who can create for himself.

Signed 1 year deal with Minny

Only 1 year deal?

Vonleh looks like a nice young talent

I saw him play well vs Horford and a few other games where he looked good

What am I missing?

I actually like him a lot and wanted him for our bench. He's strong, he's a solid defender and rebounder and he has actually shown steady improvement each season. All of that being said, there has to be a reason why this guy is going on his fifth team in five years.
