He has the physical tools I guess. My only problem is that wasn't even doing that well in Europe, stat wise at least. He's 25 how much growth is left in his game.
He led Euroleague in rebounds and led his team in scoring. He was widely regarded as one of the best european players. How is that not doing well?
Where are you getting this info from?

Are we still going after thais guy or is Kanter it?

This guy refused to join us earlier this year due to not being guaranteed a starter minutes. With Kanter, I would guess the ship has sailed for him coming.

You would guess wrong my friend!

I don’t know where he got his information from, but when I went to the Euroleague website and pulled up the league leaders in rebounds, Poirier was indeed on top.

https://www.euroleague.net/main/statistics?mode=Leaders&entity=Players&seasonmode=Single&seasoncode=E2018&phasetypecode=RS%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20&cat=TotalRebounds&agg=Accumulated

He's 14th in the League in total scoring on that site too.  He looks pretty great

That’s great news.  Along with Kanter we are going to need all the rebounding help we can get especially when we play small at PF.

yes, being near the top of such stats is always better than being close to the bottom. other areas of interest:

- blocked shots = 7th. good! but ahead of him are mickey jordan (!) and jeremy evans.
- offensive rebounds = 1st!
- defensive rebounds = 4th.
- FT attempted 24th

interesting stuff.

does anyone know whether he will play in the summer league? that would be good to see.

I expect a big uptick in offensive rebounding and shot attempts this season (the two go hand in hand). I fear that our transition defense will take a hit, however.

good points. kanter and poirier seemed designed for a half court game. the rest of the team is geared to run. well, this is what they pay CBS big bucks for. let's see what he works out for the season.

This guy is a rim runner. Rob Williams, Tacko Fall, and this dude should be coached by Kevin McHale from now till opening day. Just teach em post moves. The ideal coach would be Olajuwon but I am not sure the logistics work.

Kind of like a Theis.... but Theis can make the open 3

We will see why Danny wanted to sign Poirier.  I do dig the legit Center size, power and length.  Definitely above the rim
