Masslive had it that Poirier is the best defender and roll man out of the Euro/Turkish centers. He's 6'11", 7'6" wingspan. Seen him listed various weights but 245 seems about right from the films; he's strong but still relatively mobile - not as quick as playoff Al but competent in drop coverage on a pick and roll, at least in Euro ball. Does not shy away from contact and a determined rebounder. His most obvious limitation is that if he has a jump shot he's never shown it. Be interesting to see how he holds up against NBA speed.
With the four centers we've got I'm ready for almost anything; they could all be bench-quality players or one or two could break out to be starters.
