Al Horford expects a 4-year, $112M offer from an undisclosed team next week, via @TheSteinLine.

Apperenly Boston offered him a good 4 year deal according to MacMullen. So seems like some one Wants  him more

28 mil per? that's a near max player, who's giving him that at this age?

Yeah, go get that money, Al. Not even upset. No reason to pay you that kind of money with Kyrie leaving, too.

I can't blame Al for chasing the $$$ at his age and players have to do the best for themselves while they still have value, before the decision on where they go is made for them (e.g. Baynes). I'm happy for him, he represented us well in the 3 years he was here. I guess it would come down to more money vs familiar surroundings in Boston, since Dallas isn't going to be a contender next year anyway.

Do the Lakers have enough money to pay him that contract

I think they are close. The trade with the 4th pick lost them money. I don’t think they can do max, but maybe close to that number Horford is getting. But just saw something about them looking at Lopez, so I’m guessing no.

Could be the clippers

I just look at the 2015 Celtics roster which Horford decided to join. Whooweee, that was IT, Avery, Marcus and not much else. What was he thinking? That we would trade-in all those draft picks for established vets?

I will defend Danny to death, but losing Al is pretty bad.

Agreed. If the rumors are true and someone wants to pay him $112m, makes sense for him to take it and for the Cs not to match. You just thank him for being such a pro while he was here and wish him good luck.

Agreed. Horford has been one of my favorite players since he entered the NBA. But his age and salary don't match the team's needs if we are going young.

The same people saying “I can’t believe Danny isn’t going to pay Horford” would be the very first ones in line to criticize him 2 years later when he’s 35. They did it with Hayward and the guy broke his leg as if Danny has a crystal ball.

Rather have Irving back than Horford. Make Horford come back for the MLE or not at all. Forget this glue guy that thinks he deserves another fat contract of 4 years in excess of 100 million dollars. He was overpaid by C's already. Hope DA knows and pratices the saying of, "Fool me once shame...."

In a way I agree with Csfan1984.... I d give him something like 18 for 3 years.  Not as a revenge but as he wants the best financially for his family the FO wants to pay as less as possible. If he is back means he had gambled and lost....

I am just not believing the $112 for 4, it is too much and no one can figure which team would do it because it was only a discussion not an offer.

Sign and trade for Capela or Al just bargaining with Danny and he will be back.

New York, LA Clippers and Sacramento are the most logical options. They have the cap space and in need of a veteran PF/C, who can bring them over the top (playoffs/contender). New York and Sacramento have a history of making questionable deals.

But I doubt New York had Horford on their mind, when they cleared cap space, and from what we've heard it seems like a long-prepared offer.

So I believe that the Sacramento Kings desperately want Al Horford as their veteran leader who can guide their young talented squad into the playoffs. It has been reported that re-signing Cauley-Stein is not a priority for the Kings and that only makes sense if they have their eye on another big man to pair with Bagley. The athletism and rebounding of Bagley combined with the intelligence, defensive versatility, passing and shooting of Horford is attractive. And GM Divac has spoken about his impatience to build a contender quickly and it's the last year Hield is on a rookie-contract.

Fox-Hield-Barnes(?)-Bagley-Horford (+ Ferrell, Bogdanovic, Bjelica, Giles)

The story adds up.

(I hadn't thought of Atlanta, pairing Collins/Horford makes sense as well, but a little weird for Al to go back to the franchise he left because they didn't want to pay him enough money and now return because another franchise didn't want to pay him enough. That would be rather ironic.)

I think I’d prefer to sign Vucevic then S&T Horford.

Vucevic is a better player and better fit than someone like Adams/Capela.
