Embiid not playing his 1st year due to injury - such a waste of a pick!
Simmons sitting out his 1st season due to injury - what a bust!
Zion missing the start of his 1st season - what idiot drafted this guy? He’s made of glass!

Said no one ever.

Romeo isn’t entertaining me = he’s a wasted pick - half of CS.

I don't think the Celtics expect or need much from Langford this season.  It comes with the territory when you are drafting 19 year old players.  At this point, it is impossible to know what kind of player he may turn out to be but it would be wildly premature to give up on him.

19 minutes, 0 points on 0-5 shooting on Sunday for Maine, while Carson and Tremont were scoring 28 points each.

Man, it's no longer just the injuries.  I don't think this guy has it.  James Young redux.

Woah, he had a singular bad game? The sky is falling, everyone! This sort of stuff makes me wonder if rookies hate being drafted by us...

Ok smart guy. Go ahead and quote me on this and have me eat crow if I’m wrong. I’d love to be wrong. Sadly I won’t be. It’s not a singular bad game. When he has been healthy in preseason and g league he’s done nothing to impress. If you want to hold out hope after Hope is gone be my guest. But I’m officially chalking him up as a bust.

I'm glad you're so certain, Nostradamus, but writing off players in the middle of their rookie season is a one way ticket to constantly eating crow.

So next year Danny may bring in 2 second round picks + 2 first round picks (MWE + ours) + Waters and Tacko + Memphis pick if it conveys. We will also have Langford + Time Lord + Carsen + Grant.. This is eleven guys on the roster.
Danny will have some tough decisions to make on our top 8 players as we will only have roster spots for half of them ... lol  ;D

Romeo's ability to get to the rim and finish will translate at the NBA level. His length, strength, and quickness have to be optimal for him to do it and he isn't strong enough to drive on defenders the caliber of Jaylen and Marcus  (whom he plays against in practice).

His injury issues have delayed his development. The kid will be great in CBS' system, on dribble-drives especially, when time comes.

Should Romeo consider working with another fitness trainer? Or, at the very least change his fitness routine?

There have been 2 injuries since he returned from his thumb surgery. Could be just bad luck. Might also be a conditioning problem.

If it's the later, then it will take a year or more of dedicated training to gain added strength and flexibility. Maybe that will help?

Sure hope he can shake the injury bug before too long.
Twisting an ankle has nothing to do with the trainer or fitness routine. If he were constantly pulling muscles and straining tendons then you might wonder, but he simply landed wrong on the ankle.

All true, but chronic sprained ankles can be addressed with training - Steph Curry sprained his ankles constantly in his first couple of years in the league, and credits the work he did with a trainer for preventing the problem later on.

There's no indication that Romeo has a chronic problem with this or anything else.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

I just think they need to make romeo tape his ankles. a lot of young players won't do it. I remember this was bradley's problem early on, then he finally relented and didn't have any more ankle problems with us.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Thybulle is better than all of the C’s picks. Not sure what DA was thinking.

And we know this because of 2 months worth of games? Wow pretty smart of you.

Langfords first game with Red Claws he scored 27 points and had several highlite reel blocks.
Langford just turned 20 although having a NBA physique he may not have man strength yet. Sprains from coming down on a players foot are just an occupational hazard.
Pushing a boys body against the best athletes in world seems to effect many rookies causing much more serious injuries .It seems that Romeo's low to ground dribbling and in traffic footwork could be suspect.
He played injured in his only collegiate season had surgery and a rehab. Comparisons to James Young are woefully inept for a variety of reasons .Ball handling, getting to the rim, blocking shots and steals are all part of Romeos game.
