Don't be surprised if he plays "follow the idiot" and goes to the Lakers, as he reportedly wants to play with AD.

But doesn't want to play with Lebron James. Typical big market stuff.

Too bad Ainge et al got intimidated by that Davis' slimeball agent. Do agents really run the show these days?

Nope, the players do. Players can basically dictate where they want to play today.

If he came back it would only be for a year... His heart isn't in Boston, It should be obvious to everyone at this point... If he came back Danny would probably trade him by the deadline especially if things started downhill again... There are no other big free Agents coming to rescue Kyrie... He would sink this organization as soon as things started getting tough again...

Also, I would be concerned about the Jays... If we never give them the keys, if they are always Trade bait for the next fan fantasy - why would they stay when their deals are up...  At some point, we have to make these kids the priority... It could seriously blow up in our faces if we don't.

If he comes back, we'll see if they can somehow improve their chemistry. If not, we can sell him for the highest bidder.

LOL I see some yall still waiting for Kyrie to tell you what he is doing on July 1st.

We tried to tell you he was gone when he would not commit during the season. Sometimes you have to understand that when you answer a yes or no question equivocally the real answer is probably the one that causes you embarrassment.

lack of commitment during the season didn't mean anything.  I think if he leaves it was due to the environment in the locker room and the team's general underwhelming performance this year.

Then we should all be very mad at Ainge for not acquiring AD using Tatum. I understand that AD might still leave in a year, but if it meant we would have signed Kyrie to a 5-yr max, then it would have been worth it to go all-in for a season. Then we would have had Kyrie instead of Tatum moving forward - not so bad.

Now we have no Kyrie and no AD and no chance at a Title.

I really hope this is not true.

I'm still surprised that he'll leave all of that extra money on the table that only Boston could pay him.

That was supposed to be the way teams would have an advantage on keeping players.

I guess Kyrie feels he can make almost as much in marketing dollars in NYC?  That's so hard to gauge though.

I will root like heck for him to mature so that his mindset doesn’t get in the way of his phenomenal talent!

Yup. The quote says the "source has maintained for months that Kyrie wants to play with Davis" meaning the source has been saying this for months.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I know this is a longshot...

So all of us seem to be almost 100% convinced that Kyrie is bolting for the Nets.  With Davis going to the Lakers and Kyrie supposedly having told the C's that he would only come back if Davis was here it seem extremely unlikely Kyrie resigns with us....BUT

We know Kyrie is a bit of an odd duck.  Maybe his plan was to join Durant with the Nets.  Durant's injury makes him rethink that and just resigns with GS.  What happens if Kyrie decides he wants to be back with the C's?  It almost seems like there is a good riddance attitude in the blog about him, and there have been rumors that the C's coaches and players weren't 100% happy with him either.

If this happens do we run the whole thing back (maybe minus Rozier) and just hope everyone gets along better?  What does DA do to the team if Kyrie tells him he wants to resign with us?

Kyrie staying is not a long-shot as many including myself make it out to be. It is one thing to talk about max dollars , another thing when someone is offering you that & all they need is your signature....

He started something with Boston, I think he should & will finish it. Klay is still out there, Beverly, all hope is not lost for Boston. Not sure how much money you all have, not a Boston fan, so I don't keep up with the cap situations, etc.

All this blame on Kyrie is unfair. I am with Ainge on this. As Isaiah Thomas said on FSN, following is underrated. TOR won a title because their role players fell in line. TOR shown the world what happens when everyone knows their role. Kawhi wasn't even shooting great that series...

@MIL game 1 was the real Boston, but something apparently happened because ya'll did not look the same on both ends. Commutation, effort, everything was just gone...

A BOS vs LAL finals would be fun to see as a basketball fan, but ya'll need a number 2 to go with Kyrie, or even a 1A.

Shams says Kyrie and "top Celtics officials" will meet soon to discuss future, potentially before Thursday's draft.

I'd be shocked if there was a sudden reversal after all the BKN noise has been a constant.
