Lots of good tidbits to post from his discussion that I can’t post right now due to being at work (feel free for others to post them here), but his discussion about Kyrie’s future was interesting and I thought it was post-worthy. Content-wise, he expectedly did not say much, but to me his body language screams an expectation that Kyrie isn’t returning. See for yourself:

I really take absolutely nothing from his body language or answers. Not much to see or hear, imo.

TP for the alert. I didn't take anything away from it one way or the other. Seemed to be playing his cards close to vest. Kudos to Sherod for the tough questions, though.

Eh, maybe I’m reading too much into it, but both times he talked about Kyrie he seemed somber.

I do think it’s good that they’re still in contact and having ongoing discussions and that per Danny Kyrie has not given any indication that he doesn’t want to be here, though I doubt he’d say anything else to the media.

At this point I don’t even think Kyrie knows what he’s going to do, and I hardly trust any of the “leaks” and “rumors” coming out about Kyrie going elsewhere, as (1) Kyrie has one of the closest inner circles in the game, (2) no major NBA guy has weighed in on Kyrie’s preferences yet, and (3) the only NBA guys who have made these reports are associated with either the NY market or LA market (or with Lebron) and all have conflicts of interest.

I think Kyrie will explore his options in free agency and have meetings with Boston, NYK, Brooklyn, and maybe even the Clippers and be persuaded during those meetings where to go, which kind of puts us in a difficult position regarding an AD trade.

IMO, yes you are.  I might be somber too.  The moment of truth that could determine the fate of the team for the next 5-7 years is nearly upon us.

I didn't watch the video but saw Jay King's tweets about what Danny said.

Sure sounds to me like Danny expects Kyrie to be gone.

Paraphrasing: "I'm not sure anything we do roster wise could make the Celtics more attractive to him".

Also sounds like Danny is laying the groundwork for bringing Terry back.

Paraphrasing: "In the right circumstances I think Boston is a place Terry could thrive and be happy".
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

That does sound like he is gone for sure no matter if Davis is here or not. Can you imagine this board if the Terry era begins this coming season?

Not necessarily

he could also come off the bench (Smart start).  But he won't have to compete with both Irving and Hayward this time to have his chances to "run" the team

Lol no Rozier is starting if Kyrie leaves, I promise. They will not sign him to play a position that he’s unhappy with. He will be the starting PG if Kyrie leaves.

Terry also said: "I sacrificed my talent’ playing with Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward" How will he play with Hayward again if we bring him back? He also said: You are playing with guys that get paid so much money as Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving....

Disagree. He might be saying the Celtics are already attractive to Kyrie. He also doesn't want to throw Kyrie's teammates under the bus.

I also wouldn't read much into him saying positive things about Rozier. What else is he supposed to say? And honestly he was probably right. He might be hedging his bets with Rozier, or he might just be being polite, or he might simply be telling the truth.

Its interesting how an interview can be interpreted in different ways.

For some, Danny's noncommittal responses is just further proof that Kyrie is gone.

For others, it's just more of the "no news" we all expect at this point.
