Mike James

That's a good one. I see a lot of Mike James in him.

James was nowhere near as athletic or explosive. He was a shoot first gunner who was more like Marcus Thornton (the older one) than he is Rozier.
And how is Rozier different? All that we've seen him do with some success is, well, gun.

Also, Marcus Thornton was not that similar to Mike James. Check out the difference in three-pointers as a percentage of total shots between the two.

CJ Watson

Wow I disagree. I think he will prove to be a better player this year in itself. Completely different players. Watson was basically a shooter.

- Stuck between guard positions
- Not a great playmaker
- Solid defense
- Good spot up shooter
- Overall useful role player for 5-6 seasons

Seems like a reasonable comp to me.  Rozier will probably rebound better.

Agree, agree, agree, disagree (especially when compared to Watson, imo), to be determined.  I'd also add that Rozier is the better athlete and, imo, ball handler, so I really don't see any comparison between the two of them.  Wouldn't Rozier be more like a taller, less athletic, but better ball handling version of Dee Brown, who was also caught between guard spots?

The list of attributes was for Watson, not specifically for Rozier.  Point being to illustrate why I feel Watson is a fair comparison.

Rozier does appear to be a better athlete, and he displayed an improved handle in Summer League.

I still feel that Watson is a good comp in terms of the level of production and basic role we can expect Rozier to give the Celtics.  Combo guard who skews more toward the 3-and-D side of things.  His athleticism gives him an edge on the defensive boards, and he might be able to show some flashes as a driver or cutter occasionally.

Keyon Dooling is another guy that comes to mind.

Look, I don't usually go gah gah over Celtics players, but Rozier looks pretty nasty to me. I don't see what you are seeing. I think Rozier is better than Smart, so how is he a bench player? The guy seems like a starter or at worst a sixth man to me. It feels like you are saying Rozier won't improve.

Ah, I see.  My mistake.  I thought that the listed attributes were for both Watson and Rozier.  I was more comparing them in terms of style of play than production, but I can see where you're coming from, now.  Sorry about that :-\. To whom would you compare him, though, regarding style of play, just out of curiosity?
