Kyle Kuzma and Mike Muscala - TPE
Kyle Anderson - MLE
Joe Ingles - veteran minimum

And I wonder, if Pritchard and G.Will aren’t playing themselves out of Celtics range and therefore will have to be traded before their extensions?

If Kyle Anderson will sign for the taxpayer MLE, I am pretty sure Memphis will just keep him. He leaves only if he prices himself out. To bring him into the TPE (which I would strongly prefer to Kuzma) I am pretty sure we’d need a sign and trade and that would hard cap us. Long and short - I’d like to see Slo Mo in green but I don’t see how it happens.

The C's will need a depth wing and another Big to replace Al after next year.  The depth wing will be easier to obtain vs an Al replacement.  Al does way to much and players like him do not grow on trees.  The bigs can either play D or score/pass.  Not many that can do both.

How long can Al play, do you think?  I'd love to keep him around on a smaller contract.

Al seems to really take good care of his body. I think he could be a PJ Brown type of veteran guy once his current contract expires. Al is 35 now? I think PJ Brown was 38 yrs old when he played for the 08 Celtics.

I agree with a lot of the points made.
1. Even though I didn't see it coming, Horford now looks like a viable option to just return as a starting 4 for that final year. He has out-performed my wildest expectations.
2. If Horford does return, we have the returning contracts (everyone in top 10 of rotation) to have a very quiet offseason.
3. In terms of team needs, I agree with the consensus that the needs are long-term Horford replacement (Grant has also exceeded my expectations big time, but I like him as a versatile bench piece long-term rather than a starter) and a bench wing shooter (this could be Nesmith potentially, but he hasn't proven it yet).

In terms of the TPE, we seem to be in great shape where we don't HAVE to use it to address a glaring need but can certainly use it as a super-helpful deal-making tool if someone we like comes available.

Some names I would keep an eye on:
1. Malik Beasley (2/32)
2. Marcus Morris (3/48)
3. Christian Wood (2/28)
4. Kyle Kuzma (1/13)
5. Luke Kennard (3/43)
6. Josh Hart (1/13)
7. Josh Richardson (1/12)
8. Reggie Bullock (2/20)
9. Wendell Carter (3/40)

Out of that group, Wendell Carter might not be available. Wood is a high upside play, but I have some concerns about his makeup on a winning team. Beasley, Morris, and Kuzma all have some appeal as guys with good positional size to fit our switching system that would bring some shooting/scoring punch off the bench.

Kennard is a great shooter but a suspect defender, so he might not be worth the $.

Hart would fit right in with our defense and toughness, but he doesn't bring the shooting.

Bullock and Richardson bring some shooting and might not cost very much to acquire.

As a side note, one of the best things about the roster Brad has built for Ime's system is how we have duplicated talents that can allow us to play a similar style regardless of who exactly is on the floor.

If we do choose the continuity route and bring back essentially the same roster, I think we will see that pay big dividends in the regular season next year. We are suddenly ideally suited to navigate the bumps and bruises and missed games that invariably occur during the regular season.

White, due to his versatility and ability to play on or off the ball, can be tapped as a starter for any one of Smart, Brown, or Tatum. Grant can spot start for Horford at the 4 as necessary, and Theis can spot start for Timelord at the 5. I can't imagine too many teams can boast the ability to slide in a starter at all 5 positions that allows the team to essentially play the same way as they would without the missing starter (not saying there's no talent drop off, but the play style can remain consistent).

He turns 36 in June.  Next year IMO would be the last year he probably can play at a high level. Would you feel confident signing a 37yr old after next season.

I was dead wrong on how much he had left in the tank coming into this season, so now I am shy to speculate.

I'd sign Al to one-year contracts as long as he continues his strong play.
