I know this idea will create a lot of mixed emotions but hear me out. Underachiever-yes. Limited ability-yes. 7 footer-yes. Shown the ability to dominate at times-yes. The Celtics need a rim protector WHEN they want to go big. He doesn't have to play more than 25 minutes per game but when matchups dictate he is better than anything we have and the cost may not be that high. Indiana clearly has been looking to find a new home for him with their desire to go small much like we have. The market is shrinking and maybe with a Zeller and pick your man Bradley/Young/Rosier plus a pick or two or three but no Smart or Thomas would be enough to get it done. If we want to actually be a legitimate threat we have to be able to play both small ball and old time physical rim protecting styles. Just my opinion!

If it just costs something like Wallace and a 2nd? Sure, because he'll be a free agent next year anyways. I'd definitely take a one-year chance on him.

Hell, if nothing else we could go an all-defense squad and play Smart, Bradley, Crowder, Johnson, and Hibbert together. We probably wouldn't score much, but neither would our opponents.  ;D
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

If it would be possible to get Hibbert for Wallace and a 2nd rd pick or two or three, I would do it in a second.  I know that Wallace is a good locker room guy, but Hibbert could actually help the team on the court.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

I would that trade in a second also but don't think that the Pacers would. What would you give up with the 7 guards that we now have?

Isnt Hibbert going to DAL as part of a sign and trade for Ellis?

The time for Roy Hibbert was 2012. He has regressed since.

I really don't like this idea.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I thought that trade was contingent on Jordan signing with Dallas? Why can't we jump in and offer a better package?
