DX has moved him up to 6th, by the way.
First Stanley Johnson then Russell and now, seemingly, this kid. Every time I start to get excited about someone, our record gets better, or the kid moves up in the mocks to put him out of reach.
Yeah, a month or two ago I was telling myself to focus on Porzingis / WCS / Johnson / Winslow because one of those guys would almost certainly be available in the back half of the top 10 where the Celtics would likely pick.
Now? I have a feeling I'm gonna have to talk myself into Montrezl Harrell, Devon Booker, or maybe Kevon Looney or Kelly Oubre.
So either yet another role player wing or a power forward.
In any case, this is looking more and more like a 4 or 5 player draft to me. Bummer that the Celtics are probably going to end up outside of that.
it looks similar to me as well. but i think the next 4-5 players, while not as good, are still going to be good nba players.
assume the top tier of players is in no particular order is:
okafer
johnson
mudiay
towns
russell
that means we can assume the "second tier" of players contains:
WCS
porzingas
hezonja
obre
looney
of this group, i would be very happy for the celtics to pick any of WCS, hezonja, or porzingas. looney, IF he develops an outside shot would be great as well.
let's assume one more thing. if the celtics draft pick falls in the 8 to 10 range (reasonable) they certainly have the resources move up to #5 or #6.
i think the celtics will walk away with a very good player in this draft, it just may take a trade to do it.
