Ainge talks candidly about Green

Green has been in the league a long time and Green has always been Green.  He's our leading scorer in a fluid offense in which nobody is force fed shots.  So you would consider it a different "role" if he took 5 more shots a game?  It's the same role!  He's was never going to turn into Allen Iverson after 27 years of being Jeff Green.

If the parameters surrounding Jeff Green's utilization on offense doesn't change from his 7 years in the league, then we will never know if he can fulfill the role in the mold of Allen Iverson.

Iverson was a genius at creating shots out of nothing.  We already know that creating shots out of nothing is not one of Green's skills.  He is getting as many shots as he is comfortable taking.

While we are at it maybe we should see if Brandon Bass can be Shaquille O'neal.  We just have to get him sufficient shot attempts, right?

Green brings almost nothing to the table other than occasionally scoring outbursts and relatively reliable floor spacing.

  He's an above average defender. He's no star, but he's not a bad player.

I'd agree that Jeff is a solid 1 on 1 defender.  I'm not sure that he makes much of an impact from a team defense perspective.  Certainly defense is another area in which I think Jeff doesn't get as much from his physical gifts as one might hope.  But he's not a negative defensively by any means.

I've been the biggest Jeff Green supporter since the start of this year. With a chance to be one of the leaders of the team, i thought his game would shine further and the team might have a fighting chance game in and game out . But the last two games prove to me (and overall this year), that his game is better suited to be coming off the bench. Torching role players and giving the team a boost off the bench.

His poor and inconsistent played shouldn't be rewarded and for him to remain a starter (unless it is for showcase reasons).

You would think ,  but maybe is really just not consistent to ever be a starter.   I use to to think , it was just bad luck, be traded or health,   I now have come to grips with the idea he is never going to,be a starter  .     starters should be capable of bringing a certain level of game every night or most nights.
