or he is telling the truth and Jeff Green is an average NBA player, that's it.  He will have big nights every once in a while to suck the Green Teamers back in but in reality he is a guy that average 15pts a game, play decent defense and doesn't like to rebound....
Or you've got no idea what an "average NBA player is".

Aka....Green in more in line with those who believe he's a solid 3rd banana.
I think he's fully capable to be the second scorer on a contending team. But he just doesn't have the ability to manufacture points out of thin air, and to do it night in and night out.

I'd agree with that. I think he could be the second leading scorer, but not necessarily the second best player.
Sure, I'll go with that. I just feel that he was equally "undercast" in the role of a third gun to Westbrook and Durant as he would be "overcast" if we asked him to be LeBron James.

he's 52nd in scoring, tied for 105th in rebounding.  I was wrong, maybe he is below average?

If Jeff Green can be as useful as Luol Deng, is that a bad thing?

If Jeff ever gets to Luol Deng level or Andre Iguodala level, we'd be in excellent shape.

Heck, Chandler Parsons level would be solid.

It's settled then, Jeff Green is clearly above average.

Pretty fair assessment of Green by Danny. I really thought Jeff was going to become "the" man this season. I know it's still very early but really think what we're seeing is what we're getting with Jeff, regardless of the situation or his possible improvement. Yet Ican't help thinking that Danny is trying to motivate Jeff.

They can trade this bum for my money.  I was excited to see him be the go to guy thus year and he's done nothing sans one game.  I want a player that brings it every night or a least tries to.  Green never has and never will have that killer instinct.  Trade him to move up in the draft.

I'm sure many contenders would love to have him, and I'm not sure if his trade value is going to get any higher than it is now.  I can't make up my mind for sure if we should be keep him for the future, but maybe it's best to flip this asset.

Would you do something like 3 years left of Green's contract for 2 years left of T. Prince's contract?   If the playoffs started today Memphis would be on the outside looking in.  Of course Prince is declining rapidly so maybe we get 1 or 2 future 1st round picks out of the deal.

Green will end up leading the team in scoring
Green will play good all around ball
his play and everyone's will improve with rondo back

green needs to be more consistent
green needs to average 5-6 rebounds a game
green needs to bring upper level defense just about every game so if the outside shot isn't falling he is still impacting a game

i like ainge saying it like it is

Maybe I am just different or something.

I cant see a number 2 or even number 3 player as being so inconsistent. I like his defense, I like his shooting and I generally like him. You just cant have a guy as a 'key piece' of a team that gives 1 rebound and 4 points one nite and 6 rebounds with 22 points the next.

I know that playing with a PG like Rondo will make his life better. So will playing with any All Star level teammate, thats why they are All Stars.

Jeff has a bunch of talent, he just isnt consistent. His team doesnt know what they are going to get on most nites. This is not a player you can call your number 2 or 3 option if you are being realistic.

Jeff, for all his talent, is shaping up to be the 7th-8th man in a decent team's rotation until the day comes when he is more consistent.

If Jeff's not a go to player than why did Ainge trade for him?

Look what we gave up for him. A gunner that has been on three different teams since we traded him, and a seven-footer who has never played up to his new contract.
