Probably true. Just really tired of comments against white people being okay when had it been the reverse people would go crazy… Probably better left alone.

Dude we talk smack on black basketball players too, it has nothing to do with thier skin color its all about thier game. Scalabrine has no game at all, I could get out there and play sound fundamental basketball, it doesnt mean i'd deserve a spot on the roster.

Since when do we want players who's only asset is hard work?
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

First of all, Scal is a very sound defensive player and does a good job keeping the ball moving on offense, setting screens, etc. He does have assets beyond hard work. Of course we don't want someone who just works hard otherwise I could go out there and suit up.

That being said, the comment that I was upset about was that he has no shot of having any friends on the team whatsoever. That had nothing to do with his abilities on the floor. It was that he was the only white player on the squad. And therefore wouldn't be able to be friends with any of them. As Dybdal said though, probably better left alone.

Scal could also be re-signed using bird rights to become instant expiring contract salary-filler for a trade if sheed's contract isn't large enough.

Yes, sign and trade contracts have to be 3 years minimum, but, as with the Van Horn + Harris for Kidd trade, only the 1st year has to be fully guaranteed.

That's what Van Horn did for Dallas that year.  Sat at home, then when Dallas needed extra salary to make the Kidd trade, they signed him for 4.3 million per year for 3 years but only the first year guaranteed. so he made 4.3 million for not playing a single game after he essentially had already retired.

We could do the same with scal. It would get pretty complicated if scal was signed to a big enough raise to make him a BYC contract. As such, he must be re-signed for no more than a 20% raise.

So essentially, Scal could be an instant expiring contract to be used in a trade for up to 4,096,551. If he's choosing between retirement and that, why not take the free 4 million?

Yea perhaps thats what he meant, perhaps not. If you look hard enough into anything you can find a hidden, negative connotation.

For instance I have 3 young kids, at one point they liked barney so i watched alot of it and here's what I found:

Barney is purple: A color commonly linked with homosexuality
One of the child dinosaur's name is "BJ" surely they could have picked another name right?
Well BJs superhero alter ego was named Captain Pickles and he had a picture of a large, hulking pickle on his back.

The black actors on the show tend to be the ones who get angry, or who dont seem to have as much as the other kids.

The black kids name on the show was Jackson..

There's always some random old guy walking around the park with a treat for the kids.

If you look hard enough you can find perversion anywhere :P

Its best not to look for it lol

Argh.. there's alot of people who have fun with Scal but i might be one of the very few who will allways stand by the fact that Scal holds way more value to a team than can be messured on the basketball court.

He might be better off getting a assistant coaching job with the team but if that cant happen then i would like to see him fill the very last roster spot on our team

do you honestly think Scal was friends with anyone onthe 2010 Celtics? no shot. absolutely no shot

I'd like to hear you explain a little deeper what you mean by that comment, because quite honestly the only thing that is even imaginable for you to be referring to is his skin color. A guy who is widely seen as a very nice guy, great teammate, hard worker, non-complainer, great community contributor doesn't seem like a guy who would have a hard time making friends. The only way that could be the case would be for all other members of the Celtics being the biggest pricks in the world. Some of them possibly are, but most are definitely good guys.

Why would you even throw something like that out? Very racist sounding comment that I am willing to bet you can't back up. That kind of comment has no place on this site IMO.

I apologize if what I said was taken incorrectly. It is my own fault because I left a short post and left very little explanation.

I just find Scal to be a bad basketball player and I am very ready to see him move on. I wish him the best, and if there is any player who has ever gotten the maximum from his skill set, it's Scal. My comment was basically a reaction to how incredibly annoying I find him personally. Listening to him on Toucher and Rich, coupled with his immature (in my opinion) press conference after winning the championship in 2008 are a couple of the reasons I'm not a fan.

I wouldn't want to hang out with him, I'd rather hang with Rondo.

'nuff said. Harangody is scal's natural replacement. As much as I love scal, winning is more important.

He can have the seat next to Tyron Lue. No need to waste a roster spot on Scal.

Of course as painful as this is to say, until we get a legit 6'-8" wing defender Scal still does have a role; however if we were able to stop Orlando and Cleveland without him last year we could be OK. Personally, I would be fine with Gaffney and Harangody both making the roster. Harangody for offense, Gaffney for D and for filling the lanes on the break.
