This is what the 58th draft gets you so far in the league. This guys achilles heels is that he is mainly 25 years of age(which is dumb if you ask me, if anything its an advantage since you get a mature player).
You also get a player at age 25 who won't improve much. Basically, he is either ready, or he isn't. If he isn't, there is no point in sitting on him for 2 years to prepare for the future.
Don't agree at all. Why does it take veterans to win a championship? He will continue to learn the game. He may peak athletically; before his game peaks. Look at Ray, Eddie, Paul, KG. His shot is already good and will improve. His PG skills have only begun to be realized. His window is smaller than Rondo's; but he will grow enormously on this team with the veterans he has to learn from.
You asked, "Why does it take veterans to win a championship?"
This is your claim, so you answer it. I have no idea what your answer will be if you are mentioning 3 HOFers who are all past their peaks in every sense as examples. Are you saying that KG is better now for a championship run than he was 6 years ago? His is only in a better situation because he changed his priorities.
I'm not going to respond regarding Hudson because I don't want to be an anti-Hudson guy. I'm rooting for him like I do for all the Celtics. I'm just not good at fabricating reasons to expect success. Whatever happens happens.
