It has been a few years since we have re-litigated the Perk trade, so I guess it is time to debate this again.
Like it or not, management decided they were not going to pay Perk his fair market value in the off season due to cap management reasons. So it was either trade him or let him walk for nothing. They chose to make a trade. I trust that Ainge got the best return possible.
I have never understood the tremendous love some fans afford Perk. If you go back and take a close look at the 2008 run, Perk was rarely in the game during crunch, clutch time in the 4 qtr. KG took over center and James Posey played. Pierce, Garnett, Allen, Rondo, Posey won that title for us. Perk meh, he was often in foul trouble.
