What is your assessment of KAT as a trade target?

Best young big in the game. Aside from his skill level, KAT's iron man health streak make him the most valuable young asset in the league. Already top 5-15 player just needs a good team to showcase his capability. Should be number 1 target for C's.

Top Anthony Davis consolation prize. Elite player that has not been able to fully show his capabilities playing in Minny. Second only to AD in star power for attainable players. Would thrive under Stevens and playing next to Horford.
14 (28.6%)
Great player who might not be the best guy to build around. Incredibly talented but may lack the drive and athleticism to make a team a championship contender. Would be excited if we traded for him but it is a significant step down from AD.

Like him but don't might not be worth the assets that it would take to get him. Good scorer who hasn't shown the ability to take it too the next level. Not a malcontent but attitude issues could be a poor fit for C's. Acceptable but not ideal

Think he's a Good player but I don't want him in Boston. Definitely not worth losing Tatum and/or Brown + assets. In a vacuum best player in the deal but has too many red flags to make me pull the trigger. Pass
5 (10.2%)
Bad player who is bound to be an overpaid bottom feeder his whole career. Can't play defense. Bad team mate. Doesn't care about winning. Limited athleticism. Wouldn't even sign him let alone give up assets.

He isn't available and probably cost more than Davis

bingo

Yep. KAT is as much of a trade target as Giannis or Steph Curry. Of course the Celtics would like to have him but he's not available.

Step and Gannis are on teams that can make it to the finals, Kat is not. Matter a fact Kat doesn’t even have a team that can consistently make it to the playoffs period. With that being said the Wolves are short on flexibility when it comes to improving the roster due to them tying up their cap space with Wiggins, Towns, and Deing. With that being said I do not think KAT is untouchable. Hayward, Tatum, Smart, 14th pick, Grizzlies Pick for Kat and Deing, or for Kat and Wiggins would be interesting for the Wolves to look at because they are currently not going anywhere anyways.

But that trade wouldn’t get Gannis or Step as those players are key parts to the positive direction their clubs are going.

I ALSO WOULD NOT DO THAT TRADE FOR TOWNS IM JISR DEMONSTRATING HOW THE CELTICS (((could)) pry a player like Towns away.

I wouldn't mind giving up Tatum and another medium piece and a pick for Towns.  I see Tatum, Brown and Hayward as a conflict of interest, and unloading one of those for a star big would help the chemistry. Hayward isn't going anywhere and Brown is probably not enough. I wonder how Horford fits here.

Remember Kevin Love’s stats on Minnesota vs. his stats on Cleveland? KAT also has a much lower BBIQ than Love.
per minute this year Love's stats were pretty darn similar to his time in Minnesota and that is with him playing much of the year injured (when he actually played).

He's Minnesota's only asset and he's 23. Minnesota has as little incentive to let him go as any team in the league to let anyone go, even the MVP caliber players like Steph and Giannis. AD is, of course, the exception because he asked out. If KAT asks to be traded, then we can start talking about him as a target. Until then, we might as well start asking how to trade for Curry.

I just looked at Love's numbers this year and noticed he shot 38%. What was up with that? I realize half his shots were 3's, but that still seems crazy bad.

Some of it is the 3's, but he had a toe injury which cost him most of the year.  Affects the shooting a great deal with that type of injury.  Even with that though his TS% of 56.1 was just off his 6 season average in Minnesota of 56.6.

his 22.2 TRB% this year was the 3rd highest in his career.  His AST% was also the 3rd highest of his career.  Per 100 possessions, he had the 3rd highest rebounding, 2nd highest assist, and 3rd highest scoring numbers of his career (those were totals).

His minutes were obviously way down given his injury, but when he was actually on the floor he was still quite productive (even with being hampered by the injury).  In other words, just because a guy's numbers get deflated going from a #1 option to a #3 option, doesn't mean he is a lesser player, just lesser opportunities, which is what we saw when he went back to being a #1 option this year (again under lesser minutes).
