Pickings are slim now but I like Dedmon

He'd be a good fit.

Why?  The guy has no skill, whatsoever, and fouls a lot, iirc.  The only reason he gets on the court is because he can move his feet - woo ::).

I feel like we could use an athletic big who can rebound, defend, and block shots.

I agree.  I just don't think that Dedmon is the best option out there right now.

At this point in the game and for the money we'd want to spend, you aren't really gonna find a full package guy. And you are also unlikely to find a guy who you can confidently place in the long term plans of the team. You are probably gonna have to settle for stop gap type guys who can come on at reasonable money and play a role on the short term so we can continue to be competive while still searching for the long term answer.

Dedmon is a VERY limited player but he has size and can defend and rebound. On short money he'd be a nice duct tape fix for our big situation.

If you want skilled players or guys with well rounded games you are either gonna have to pay through the teeth or take a gamble on an unproven player. If Ainge doesn't want to do that, dedmon offers a nice bandaid for our big man issues.

How much is that, in your estimation?  I'm guessing not much, right?  We've already wasted two years of salary on Jordan Mickey, to whom Ainge signed to the richest contract for a player taken in the second round, iirc, so forgive me if I really don't care about penny pinching at the moment.

Trade Crowder to MIL for Hensen and a 1st round pick (Bucks do this to make some more room to sign Rose).

Sign Michael Beasley and Dewayne Dedmon to "Ainge Deals" (two years with 2nd year non-guaranteed).

Add Zizic and Nader but keep Yabu stashed.
Mike

Where are all the guys now who thought he would draw 20 million in salary and would be high in demand.   Has anyone heard of KO visiting anywhere?

So there's a good chance our fallback option is Rudy Gay.

HOWEVER, Heat may pursue him if they miss on Hayward and now it's likely they are "eliminated" in the pursuit of Hayward.

So Hayward... can you please make a decision fairly quick. Thanks!
