Meanwhile, the No. 1 and No. 3 picks in the upcoming draft already have been swapped, and it appears the Boston Celtics are working on a trade to acquire Jimmy Butler from Chicago. It appears they’re planning to pair him with former Butler star Gordon Hayward, a free agent from Utah whom the Celtics hope to reunite with his college coach, Brad Stevens.

Unless Woj or Lowe case confirm...no need to get caught up in this

Celtics could have just traded the 1 for him. Why go through a adventure to trade for him? Makes no sense

What do you mean? Let's assume for a second they trade the #3 pick for Butler, wouldn't you rather have Butler and the Lakers 18/Kings 19 1st rd pick or just Butler by himself? What "adventure"? You could potentially still get Butler, while also netting a major asset. That doesn't make sense?

Why would the Bulls only be interested in the #3 for Butler?

Celtics would prob  need to trade the 1 and maybe another 1st, Crowder etc for him

He has 3 years left in his contract. And is one of the top two way players in the league
He has 2 years left on his deal, the 3rd is his option. Giving up 2 high picks for him would be idiotic. But Ainge specializes in the idiotic now, so anything is possible.

when are you going to get out of this black hole ?

ainge deserves the benefit of the doubt.  He formed the big 3, then at the right time, fleeced them for a bright future
Ainge deserves nothing, in my book. He won a championship 10 years ago. So what? Should we give Paul Pierce a new contract because he was great 10 years ago? You can't have a GM who used to be great at his job if you expect to win. When exactly has he drafted a great player? Try never.

Ainge has proven repeatedly he shouldn't be running anyone's draft. Celtics had a chance to build something that could last for several years, and ainge is intent on p---ing it away to be 2nd fiddle to GSW for a few years.

I'm on the fire danny ainge bandwagon til I'm dead, or he's fired, assuming he goes through with the philly trade then blows BRK 18 on Butler. He does that, and he's dead to me.

I can't believe that I'm about to defend Danny Ainge, but Rondo.  Okay, technically, he traded for him on draft night, but Rondo never suited up for the Suns, so does that count?  It sounds like it should :-\.
