Kings are apparently very interested in Millsap.

If true, then we can forget Cousins being available.  Just as well, the cost would probably be too high.

This would be a good get for the Kings and give them good odds for the playoffs, but they should not mortgage their future, trade multiple 1sts/2nds, for an expiring contract. This is the Kings tho so it could easily happen

I actually wonder if this could be a watershed moment for the Kings.  They go hard after Milsap, and if they get him, then they feel good about their chances to make the playoffs this year and beyond, and continue to try and build around Cousins.

But if they don't get Milsap, and one of the teams in competition with them for the 8th seed does (like New Orleans or Denver), maybe that along with a crappy stretch between now and the trade deadline makes them finally decide to hit the reset button.

Somewhat similar to Pierce and the C's pick in '07.  If the C's could move the pick for another star player they'd move forward with Pierce, but if they wanted to keep the pick or couldn't trade it  then they'd look to move on from Pierce.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

If nothing else convinces the Kings that they should blow it up, signing Milsap, losing in the first round, having Milsap leave, and having Cousins turn down his extension probably will.

Are the Hawks really going to trade Millsap?

They just leaped Charlotte for 4th in the East and are on a 6 game winning streak.

If they think this is fool's gold and there's a chance Millsap will pull a Horford and leave them for nothing in the offseason, absolutely.

Nobody is beating Cleveland without a big three hurt. Trading Paul is the best move for the hawks

Agreed. Gotta hope a team sees him as a guy who can move them from pretender to "hey if a fw injuries happen we have a shot at the Finals" level.

Cavs and GSW are so good that I don't think Paul Milly, asgood as he is can leap frog anybody over them.

Yeah, apparently Horford leaving had a pretty dramatic impact on them.

In another weird twist in the Milsap trade saga:

Sources on @TheVertical: For now, Atlanta pulls All-Star forward Paul Millsap off trade market.

Sources: Atlanta GM Wes Wilcox has started informing teams today that Paul Millsap is no longer on the trade market.

So I guess Milsap must've confirmed to management that he wants to stay there long-term this offseason, in combination with their recent winning streak.

Really?  I read it as "OK guys, your offers are not good enough, better step up your game if you want in on this action."

We'll hear more in a few weeks.

Absolutely this. This is nothing more than simple negotiation. Ainge did the exact same thing with Doc, Pierce, and KG right before he traded them. Remember?

Great news for our Nets' pick.  Great news for our Cousins chances.  They aren't going to get in our way in the playoffs either this year.  Great news all around.

The Sacramento Kings need to get into the playoffs this year. Its imperative mostly because of the new arena they've built.

Also, look for the Kings to make some moves to strengthen their team for several reasons, besides the Arena mentioned above, Demarcus Cousins is heading toward becoming a free agent. They want to get his signing "wrapped up" asap. They know, the longer he remains unsigned, the more he'll begin to visualize himself at a new zip code.
