...

Smart has had maximum opportunity and has shown minimal growth.  Rozier has had minimal opportunity and has shown maximum growth.  ...
this part may be more hyperbole and the result of being engaged in a heated debate than an accurate assessment.

it is preseason, only preseason, did i mention it is preseason, but, so far smart is shooing 70% from inside the 3P. that's encouraging....for preseason.  ;D

Yeah it's encouraging for sure, that's why I don't understand why people are attempting to take away from roziers preseason performance. I have continously said both have looked good so far.

Let's put some perspective to this.

We are talking about kids who are starting their 3rd year and 2nd year in the NBA respectively.

It's way too early to say things like - Marcus Smart simply can't improve anymore.

Or Terry Rozier is now better than Smart because he had fewer minutes to develop and looked good in summer league/pre-season.

Rozier has proven nothing.  And Smart is just one year ahead of Rozier in terms of being in the NBA.

They both have plenty of room to grow.  I'm not worried about Rozier or Smart.  They are both on an upward trajectory.

I'm more wondering what we do about those last end of the roster spots.  Not that those guys will play much.  But when your most significant worry is who is going to be the 15th man, you're in a pretty good position roster-wise.

There's no out and out superstar on the Celtics right now but this team is solid and will be in the top 3 in the East, of that I have no doubt.  It's going to be an enjoyable season and I'm going to be looking forward to seeing how Jaylen Brown grows as the season progresses! :-)

CJ Watson put up something like 9 pts 2 reb 2 ast on solid efficiency in his second season, and that was at age 24.

Wouldn't be too shocked to see Terry manage something similar.  The second unit will be in need of a secondary ballhandler who can also nail spot-up threes.

agreed on the need. my minor, small, quibble is whether rozier can be that ball handler effectively. he is young, it is preseason, but i see a player who at this point in his career needs to have the ball in his hands to be effective.

when he has the ball he wants to dominate, which can be good. but i dont see him as a "pass first" pg at all.

but, let's see how he develops.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

yeah thats true, i dont know if he can run an offense well. He reminds me of a sparkplug guard who can play either on or off the ball though, especially if his good shooting continues into the regular season
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about
