Horford has played center his entire NBA career...
yeah I assume he will start there.    This is why it never made sense to do the trade with Philly for Noel.  If the goal was to sign a center, why do that?  We signed a center.

Agreed -- a Noel deal no longer makes much sense, short of getting him in a value deal (I.e. An Ainge fleecing).

Just get Okafor. He is the best post scoring big to come out of the draft and is huge and has much more potential than most want to say. With all the 3pt shooting from our team Okafor would kill it on both sides.

We def need to trade KO and Smart and try to grab Okafor. I'd even trade Smart and Jaylen Brown for Okafor....maybe we can squeeze the LAL (top3 protected) and MIA 2017 1st unprotected. At this point I would even do the 2017 BKN selection for Okafor. Any Ideas? John Henson maybe?

Or, better yet, get Cousins.

If you can either keep enough, or find enough, behind that five, you're looking at a team that should be legit competition for the Cavs in the East.
Okafor is on a long-term rookie contract and would cost far less to acquire. Okafor has a bad rap because of the success other rookie 5's had last year and the fact that those 5's are not as solid/strong as he is factored in their PERCIEVED mobility and labeled Okafor as a Carlos Boozer/Al Jefferson type (both are good but mostly offensive players), a one way player and worse a BACK TO THE BASKET SCORER!
I've watched a ton of video on Okafor and after taking into account many variables I believe he is the most undervalued asset in the NBA, largely because his ability to improve has been written off almost completely.....for a lone rookie season @19 and on a team that defenses could pack it in against, and focus merely on him.

if/when we sign Durant cap space will be an issue if we want to re-sign others or have space for the next year. Cousins contract is for 2 more seasons and much cheaper than what he is worth, but Okafor can bring more value to the table and give us more spave to sign another player this off-season or next off-season.

Also John Henson could be a good defensive center and has been underutilized at MIL
