We can also try to sign him after the season.

If we can sign Bismark to a decent FA contract, doesn't the interest in Noel completely dissipate?

PS--Did Sixers push Noel more than Okafor, or were the Celtics more interested in Noel?  That is unclear to me. If the Sixers pulled Okafor off table, may indicate they are losing confidence in Embiid's health. Just speculation on my part.  Just seems curious.

I think Ainge can get him right now if he wants to, we have more than enough assets to do it and Noel is available. It's just a question of whether Ainge wants to use our assets on Noel or is waiting for better options.

Who exactly is a better option at the 5 right now that is available? Sure, I'd love Boogie, too, but he's simply not available. Keeping flexibility open for someone who never becomes available isn't better than actually getting better via a very good defensive prospect who has DPOY potential.

No, from what it sounds like is that Okafor was always the preferred trade candidate of Philly and on the trade table, but we simply had no interest in him and preferred Noel, albeit obviously not enough. I think they want to keep Noel as insurance for Embiid, not Okafor.

Do you have any sources about this jpotter?

What I have read so far suggests the opposite.

After last nights frustration

I really don't think DA will ever bring in spend for anyone over 6 foot 8 inches . P

He is just hard headed thinking he can hang a banner with all guards .......it will never happen .....he is wasting our time.

Time for new direction.

I agree....you should go in a new direction.

 :) :)

What sources are you reading? Because pretty much all yesterday every single source over here was saying this, i.e. Noel was the preferred target over Okafor.

This is important to keep in mind: Philly still needs to trade some centers and it sounds like they got a reality check last night in terms of how much they're worth. That's good for the Celtics who still have a lot of young talent and should still be in the market for someone like Noel. I'm optimistic this means the C's can get him for a good deal before the season starts.

Yup.  Basically, Philly had a chance to trade with three teams (BOS, PHO & MIN) for Dunn and got face-palmed each time.

I was hoping for a good trade going into the draft, but I'm prepared for the possible reality that Danny & Brad & Co. (and other GMs!) simply don't value Okafor or Noel as much as Philly and a lot of us fans do.

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I tried to put together a trade between PHI, BOS, and MIL

BOS:
In: Noel, Landry
Out: Bradley, Jerebko, Olynyk, '19 Clippers Pick

PHI:
In: Middleton, Olynyk
Out: Noel, Landry, '17 Lakers Pick

MIL:
In: Bradley, Jerebko, '17 Lakers Pick, '19 Clippers Pick
Out: Middleton

Edit: BOS gets interior defense and rim protection, PHI gets a scorer at the wing and 3pt shooting and Perimeter Defense and bench 3pt shooting at the PF, MIL gets 3pt shooting and Perimeter Defense from the backcourt where they are weak, bench 3pt shooting and defense, and future assets.

The numbers work on Trade Machine. Thoughts?

If Philly has found the market as cold as it seems they have, I wonder if we can Noel for spare parts.

One of Rozier/Jackson, one of Young/Hunter/, one of Olynyk/Jerebko and a pair of future second rounders.
