I'm sorry but these threads absolutely annoy the crap out of me. It's been one year and he barely got any playing time. I mean seriously who's minutes should he have gotten? Avery? Marcus? Isaiah? I mean the guy plays like 5 minutes a game on a contender team as a rookie and everyone expects him to score 20 points in the 5 minutes or he's a bust. Give the kid a little time.

Hunter has little promise of being a useful NBA player given his performance last year and age.

But, if you look at the rest of the players taken after him, you would say the same thing.

Outside of the top 15 or so it was a weak draft, and late first rounders are unlikely to succeed even in decent years.

Not a disappointment at all. More like the outcome you'd expect given the probabilities.

He is shaky in the one thing he needs to excel on

Same goes for young. I hope each of these guys are shooting1000 shots everyday

No. For a guy who saw limited minutes, I thought he did okay. He needs to work his consistency and defense, but thought he was okay

He certainly wasn't impressive, but he went 28th. It's not exactly like I had high expectations.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

If someone is disappointed with young but happy with Smart all I can say is wow. Maybe draft position means nothing to that person.

Young shouldn't be in the same sentence with Smart. Are you kidding? Smart is already a superior defender and shoots 3's in the NBA better than Young. We need Young to perform in the NBA not in Maine. Maine means nothing. Seriously, Smart is in all ways better than Young.
Accident. I meant to say Hunter. People are certainly free to dislike the Young experience.

The craziest thing about R.J. Hunter is that people will once again wax poetic about one of the draft picks in the summer league this summer and have total amnesia about what happened this past summer with Hunter (and even Rozier and Mickey).

What's that exactly?

Rozier barely played in the regular season because we were a bit jam packed at guard, but towards the end of the season he started to earn Brad's trust, got an opportunity to get some minutes, and honestly played pretty well in the minutes he was given.

He even made a legitimate impact in the playoffs for us, which is not an easy thing to do for a young rookie who's barely played NBA minutes to suddenly be called up on the biggest stage.

He put up impressive numbers in both summer league and in the D-League, and when he did get NBA minutes for the most part he looked pretty good.

I don't think Hunter has a great deal of potential to be honest, but I thin Mickey and Rozier are both very promising young prospects.  I think Rozier has potential to be a good starter (maybe even an outside shot at being a star), and I thin Mickey could develop into a better version of Bismack Biyumbo (or a poor man's Serge Ibaka).

Great prospect. Like Rozier and Mickey. I like Rozier the best . All star potential in that kid. Keep the development going with all 3 though. Solid youth

A guy picked 28th in the draft after a single year in the nba, and you declare him a bust? Ha, ha...you are a very funny person.

No. Let him get some good minutes. I expect this year to be a make or break year.

I don't have a good fix on any of those rookies drafted last year. Stevens didn't play them enough.

He shot 30% from 3, as a 3 point specialist.

Ummm.... that was on a massive total of .. 63 attempts.

Nah, Mickey doesn't have the rebounding ability of Biyombo, nor the quickness of Ibaka.  Iirc, TheFlex nailed it last year, imo, when he compared Mickey to Taj Gibson.

As for the others, Rozier is meh, although at least he can dribble and get to the basket, etc., as opposed to Smart (even though that's not saying much), Marcus Thornton was a complete waste of a pick, and Hunter was the only selection I agreed with (not that that means anything, lol).  I think RJ's fine.  I just wish that he'd gotten more minutes, namely because his passing would really help in the halfcourt, imo, haha ;D. Ugh.

Regarding James Young, just get rid of him.  Somehow, lol ;D. He isn't a hard worker, doesn't give any effort when he's on the court, and can't even dribble.  The guy didn't even look like an NBA player in the summer league.  Sigh.
