Can Bennet play small forward?
Not at his current weight certainly. I really doubt he can long term either.
Right now, the main question about Bennett seems to be simply "can he play".

I'm not sure what you see in Waiters/Bennett. They certainly don't make the team better now.
Bennett is looking like a bust, but Waiters is potential All-Star material.

Yeah, I think that in the right situation Waiters could be similar to Harden, though not as dominant.

I just see Bradley as better suited to being a starter, mainly because he can't play the point, so would be horrible in the role of combo guard off the bench.  I am open to an upgrade, but I would be bitterly opposed to replacing him with a guy who can score 20ppg but doesn't play defense, especially if he is a bad three-point shooter.  I just don't think that sort of player would fit on a Stevens-coached team.

If the Celtics add Asik, I would like them to add a sixth man SF/SG who can score some and defend the bigger SGs who I think Bradley can defend, but who will cause him to foul out.  The alternative would be to acquire a SF who would push Green into a sixth man role where he backs up SF and plays some minutes at PF and SG.

I think Boston should look at moving Green to Cleveland for Waiters and Bennett.  Waiters would add a much more consistent scorer to the team and Bennett provides some potential and another potential asset.  I think that team on the whole would be better than the current one.

So the team would be

PG - Rondo, Crawford
SG - Waiters, Bradley
SF - Wallace, Bennett
PF - Sullinger, Olynyk, Humphries
C - Asik, Faverani

To me that team is a bit better balanced and a bit better than the one with Green.  You would then look to the draft for an upgrade at SF or hope Bennett actually develops.

I really like Waiters.  I think he can be an elite scorer and he gotten better and more efficient.  He is going in the right direction.

Bennett got off to a horrible start, but he has been better of late.  Certainly not worth a #1 pick, but not completely useless either.  For a guy with that much raw athletic ability I think he is worth the risk.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Much better as of late?  What planet is 2.3 PPG much better?  It's better than nothing I concede.  Much better my foot he shoot, he can't play but he is a good athlete.   We already had this guy in Kedrick Brown.   No thanks.

He isn't playing very many minutes, but he has greatly improved his shooting efficiency and is rebounding at a decent rate.

Shouldn't be too hard to improve your efficiency when you start your career shooting .000 your first 3 games.

well sure, but his last four games he is 5-8.  I know he isn't shooting much, but he is making progress, looking less loss, etc. and he is doing that with playing so infrequently that he can't really get into a groove.  He is looking more and more like a NBA player.  He never should have been the first pick, but he isn't looking totally lost right now.

Better agreed, much better I do not.   He looks more like an NBA bench player.  But I am sure any improvement is a good thing and he had no where to go but up.
