Darko, in todays Herald.....!

Frankly Darko was not given a shot during the regular season after a decent training camp.  It also appears based on media reports after the signing that Darko thought he would be given a reasonable chance to play.  Then he was not given the chance during his short tenure behind even Jason Collins in the rotation. If Doc was trying to break Darko down it just was not the time to be doing that.  He was a player that needed to be built up.

Darko's passing skills really could have helped the offense.  His physical play and average rebounding would have helped the team. Unfortunately Doc's coaching tends to limit players roles on the team.  He did not really want Ray Allen running pick n roll for crying out loud.

Doc after playing on a team that protected even Spud Webb does not understand the role of an enforcer.  He was protected and does not even seem to recognize it to the detriment of the Celtics.

Of course Doc is a legend in his own mind who played his entire career in pain with a bad back.  He never won the big one even playing on a few stacked teams (of course Larry Bird had something to do with that).

I think both Darko and Doc are overrated on this board.

He showed positive signs. He was 'Celtic'. I just wish he hadn't walked away.

I think of a lot of things when I think of a "Celtic".

Quitting on the team because you're not getting the playing time you feel you deserve isn't one of them.

To me this is really the whole Darko story in a couple of lines. 

No matter what, Darko needed to prove himself to Doc / Celtics to get playing time.  For whatever reason that didn't happen, and he asked to be released after only a few games.  If that is how he responds to adversity, well I just don't see him helping us much.  Plus if he is going to lie about why he asked to be waived...ehhh.
