Rumor: Rondo to the Kings (based on fake twitter accounts)

Rajon Rondo is 26 years old, major injury free, on one of the best contracts in the game, is a proven big game player with tons of experience, and he's one of the top ten players in the game.  You don't trade a guy like that for prospects and draft picks. 

You find prospects to build around him.

There is no validity to this rumor, is there?

The validity level of this rumor is probably low even by draft week rumor standards but the Celtics did work out some of the players expected to go in the 5-6 range.  This could be nothing more than a pump-fake by DA but I think there is enough smoke around this to feel that either a trade with Sac or Portland (Crawford's name keeps coming up) involving Rondo is at least a possibility.

  If you're not getting back Aldridge from the Blazers then it's a bad deal. Crawford and Rondo are miles apart as players.

And for this Kings trade, are you kidding me, Evans and the #5 for Rondo?  That would be excellent value back for Rondo.  That doesn't mean I don't like Rondo or that I want to trade him, I just feel that would be a good exchange of assets for the Celtics.

  Good value would be someone who is expected to be a great player for a number of years. Evans and the #5 don't fit that bill.

I would love to see Rondo for Cousins and the 5. If MKG fell to to 5 I could see them picking him up if not I think they would go for Rivers at 5.

Either way I could see us being a much better team next year and be much younger.

I'd have to strongly consider that. Cousins is a 20/10 guy waiting to happen and the Celts could draft Lillard to replace Rondo with the 5th pick.

Lillard, Bradley, Green, Cousins, 21st and 22nd picks. That's a great group to start the rebuilding process with.

Cousins is one of the 10 players or so in the NBA I would trade Rondo for.  I don't care that he is a turd, he is a top 3 center right now and is only getting better.  If we got the #5 for that and drafted Barnes, we could have a scary team in a couple years
