wooohooo, does this mean we can sign Illyasova now?

25 in cap room

9 to KG
5 to Green
9-10 for Illyasova

please get this done!

That, bringing back Steimsa, Pietrus, and Dooling, and holding onto the 2 draft picks would make me very happy.

Rondo/Dooling
Bradley/Pietrus
Pierce/Green
Ilyasova/Green
KG/Steimsma

That's 9 guys for the rotation.  + JJJ and 2 rookies makes 12.  Bring back Wilcox, Hollins, and Marquis for good chemistry and I'm a happy guy.  I'm sure Wilcox and a rookie would end up cracking the rotation as well.

If KG is brought back for another year, I'd actually be intrigued about submitting a waiver claim on Brand, should Philly use the amnesty on him.

Would only be on the hook for the last year of his contract, whereas nearly every other option on that list would come at significantly higher financial costs, both short-term and long-.

The decks would remain clear for a big time acquisition from the 2013 crop of FAs.

some of these guys are going to get "HUGE" contracts, ASIK & Lopez to name two. Teams are OVER paying like crazy right now for bigs , these two are nice average , but you watch they will get 50% more than DA would pay to have either.  Same with Hibbert, probally be given a max contract. ( ALthough , I think the PACERS might dump Granger) , not sure he is in good terms .  Only about 4-5 of these interest me....maybe DA see's a deal to make.

KG ,in order to play again...is probally gonna want a REAL CENTER , somebody like Kaman to join him so he can go back to PF position.

I wouldn't mind using Bass dollars to bring in the BEST center we can land.  Thing is ...teams are paying really stupid numbers to keep average centers these days.

We "REALLY" need to take at least one TRUE BIG 5 man in the draft .

I think Bass will be back tbh... he's just testing the market, he wants to play in Boston and unless he gets a ridiculously huge contract by another team I think he'd take the small pay cut to play here

the key is not letting him walk without getting something in return. this is the last off season of the sign and trade so we better take advantage of it. maybe he will sign a massive contract with a team under the cap, then we can get a large trade exemption. as for why it would be a sign and trade, for the extra year on the deal.

What kind of a defender is Illyasova?  That option intrigues me as much as any out there.  This would mean bye bye to Ray but perhaps we can get a serviceable guard in the draft.

Avery Bradley is already set as our SG of the future.  The C's don't need to draft a guard unless the talent matches up.  That said I wouldn't be surprised to see Austin Rivers wearing Celtic green.

As for Bass, see you and thanks for the nice season.  He's a good role player but not worth committing long term dollars for.  Bass is not the type of defender that will take our team to the next level.  For that type of guy, I'd love to see a Josh Smith join up.  If not, then go for the best 7 footer we can acquire.

As for the draft, I don't see any instant starters out there at Center, not from where we are drafting.  Some say Drummond could be that type of player but he's a lottery, top 5 pick so he's out of reach.

I agree that Bradley is the SG of the future.  But we shouldn't underestimate what Ray did for this team.  His loss will be felt more than many think and if we don't get someone esle in here to at least back up Avery, then we will be worse next year.  At this point, we don't have a single above average back up at either guard position.

it is becoming more and more apparent we are in a bind at all positions if we want to be TWo deep. with good starters and not bums on the bench.
LET'S GO CELTICS!
