cant wait for green to come back. he's dedicated to this team

No he's not.

And no, he's not better than Josh Smith.

I think people forget just how mediocre he was for us last year.

so was bradley, whats your point??? Green was still able to average 10ppg playing "mediocre"....if he can step his game up and come back I see him putting up 15ppg off the bench

and, the guy is still in the locker-room/at the home games on the bench so he definitely has a desire to come back

agreed here. He's no Josh Smith, but he can play at a near Josh Smith level for half the cost. It also looks like he has the desire to come back to us, that means something.

Can't wait for him to be healthy again and come back.

Probably a half-dozen people have made this point, but I'm not sure that it's accurate.  First, I don't think Green's production approaches Smith's, both in terms of rebounding and defense.  Second, Josh Smith makes $12.4 million this year.  Green was signed to a $9 million contract this year, before it was voided.

We all hope that Green's market value will be below $9 million, but what if it isn't?  Would you rather have Green at $9 million, or Smith at $12 million?  I'd take Smith all day, every day.

Green is coming off heart surgery and will not be paid 9M by any team, including the C's.  Josh Smith is talented but, as we saw last night, should never be on our team.

If he's willing to come back and be part of this team, he should be signed.
Finding someone with the ability to play two positions is tough.
Finding someone young with dedication to team is even tougher.

i think Josh Smith's real problem is between his ears....he just doesnt have good BB IQ(offensively at least)...hes a real solid defender.but his shot selection/passing really leave a ton to be desired...

People really this down on Jsmoove on the board?

Surprising.

I salivate(yes I said it, SALIVATE) over the idea of a lineup that looks something like this:

1- Rondo/Bradley
2- Ray/Bradley/Peaches
3- Pierce/Jsmoove/Peaches
4- Jsmoove/Bass
5- KG/SteamBoat

Look at the defense we can put on the floor...thats just staggering to me.

DISCLAIMER: Did absolutely no research or back checking to see if any of this is possible. Pure conjecture. :D

probably for that one year, but either Green shows he is healthy and gets a big raise, or he shows he isn't and thus he isn't anywhere near the player he was.

Smith is a better all around player and more worth the money.
