I am not a fan of a trade that doesn't net the Celtics a starting SG.
I feel that Tony Allen deserves a shot at starting with the way he's been playing. If Marquis comes back healthy he could also fill that role.
I think we need to either get an SG that is an upgrade over Ray (from a cash strapped team) or a young player that we could add to our nucleus of Perk and Rondo for the future.
We need a SG who can, well shoot, to play with Rondo.
I know a lot of people proscribe to this theory but I am not one of them. I am tired of how we have become a jump shooting team. We already have Kg, Pierce, Sheed and Eddie takin a ton of jumpers, I think this team would be much improved by someone who goes to the hole.
People make the spacing the floor argument, but I feel that more of Ray's 3's come from diagramed picket fence plays than someone kicking it to him after a drive when the floor is spaced.
Look at it this way, how often does Rondo's man sag off him and we can't make the other team pay?
Imagine if they could do that with two match ups instead of just one.
Even though this hasn't been the case but in my opinion if you can't shoot and a guy is playing off you, you go to the hoop. It is much harder to defend someone who has several steps of momentum than someone who is front of you.
Rondo and Allen were playing well together yesterday.
