I think the Celtics will have an 8 man rotation with three key bench players making very good contributions -- House, Daniels and Sheed.
Eddie House and Marquis Daniels are just so much better than the rest of the backup players on the perimeter that it's hard for me to leave one of those those two out in a discussion like this. Both of those guys will be making good contributions throughout the season, House arguably being the best bench player last year, and would sorely missed if lost to injury.
If I were to select one of those above the others ... then Sheed is the frontrunner until proven otherwise. He's clearly the most talented player.
... I think you need to name all three players if you're going with multiple choices as key bench contributors ...
You don't this BBD will be a key contributor?
Not at the level the other three will be.
There simply won't be enough minutes for BBD playing behind Garnett, Perkins and Wallace.
Davis' role will be a lot smaller than the other three -- Daniels, House and Wallace.
I 100% agree. I don't know what type of math people are doing, but there's only 48 mpg per position. If people think Baby's going to get big minutes, they must think we're going to have a lot of OT games.
Even if we're extremely conservative to the point of exaggeration and say that KG, Perk, and Sheed all only average 28 mpg, that leaves 12 mpg for Baby. And let's face it, even if that is the case, in games that Doc is really trying to win and/or are close, they're going to play more minutes, leaving zero minutes for Baby.
The only way I see him getting enough minutes to be a big contributor is if he can play some 3 (which he's hinted at this offseason) or if Doc decides to give KG 5-10 mpg at the 3 (which I don't love, but also don't think is as horrible of an idea as some think on this board).
