I think Pierce psyched himself out.

He went to an official to get him a towel to wipe his hands. That little brief breakage from the game must have caused him to miss the first free throw long....and then he left the 2nd one a weeeei bit short and then it popped out.

He defnitely should have made at least one to tie the game.

Kobe has been involved in many more crucial games and yet, I cannot recall a single instance where he choked it away on the FT line.

Add last night to the list.  8)

There have been others I'm sure. But I did enjoy last night a little too much. All the "closer" and "assassin" talk drives me nuts.

I wished I would have watched the whole game. I would have savored every minute of that loss.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

even more so when all his important games where he couldn't hold the door closed/ got blown out/ had a chance to take a game over but failed (like games 1, 6 and most notably game 4 of last years finals)  apparently don't count against him.

What I hold against Kobe, and will do so for a long time is his performance against the Suns in game 7 in 2006. I can understand being frustarting watching a 3-1 lead slip away and playing on an average team. But to pout for a national TV audience by refusing to take a shot in the second half? Come on....

I can't stand how they keep calling Kobe [mark jackson voice] The best closer in the game[/mark jackson voice] I wish someone would show the announcers 82games.com.
