Boston using the pick on Erden was reported on draftexpress prior to the draft as well as just trying to move it for a future pick.

Erden signed a contract extension overseas prior to the draft  and announced it as a like a 3 or 4 year deal.  I am pretty sure it is already worth more than a million dollars a year.  This one of the reasons that he slid off the draft board.  When he meets the media in Boston all of a sudden he is free to come to the NBA in '09 and he is the "C's '09 1st round draft pick."

The Hornets sold Darrell Arthur not the pick but the player who was used in a trade.

The value of the pick prior to the C's was 2 2nd rounders in that draft which is pretty blah.

You are completely confusing Erden with some other player. He didn't sign an extension, he's not worth anywhere near a $1 million contract. He was the 4th big in a not so good team.

Btw, I believe you're confusing him with Pekovic. But that's the reason why Pekovic was drafted with the 31th pick and not with the 60th.

more often than not, Danny's picks have turned to gold - whether he kept them or used them to bring in something better, so I have faith, and even if this one misses, I call it a mulligan

No matter who was picked there, they wouldn't be playing.

Agreed.

I think the fact that Walker got any PT just proves there is something really special about him.
