That's why there is CelticsBlog.
The DVR is a wonderful thing too. Skip all the commercials and the crap.
WEEI?, I'd almost rather listen to opera or rap. The morning Limbaugh wannabes and the big afternoon blowhard are the worst, but it's all pretty annoying. I haven't listened in years, except very occasionally. Ever notice that every single time you turn that station on, there's a string of about ten commercials on.
Regarding the Sox, the biggest part of spring training so far is Papi's belly. I love the guy, but starting to wonder if he really cares that much anymore, and if his career is basically over.

I assume you're being sarcastic here because Papi has surprisingly lost some weight this year.
Yeah I don't know if kenmaine is just assuming Papi got fatter, because from what people have been saying and clips I've seen, he seems to have gotten himself in good shape for the upcoming season.

I have never lived in an area where NBA was the most talked about sport.

In Philly, it was the Eagles.

In DC, it was the Redskins.

In NY, it was the Yankees/Mets.

There's a difference between being anything close to the most talked about sport and marginalized to the extent that the C's are compared to the sox and pats.

I listen to WEEI everyday, and they actually talk about the Celtics a good amount.  The problem is, as soon as the calls start coming in, all the listeners want to talk about is the Pats and Sox.

The C's simply have a long way to go to become a point of constant interest to the majority of Boston sports fans.
Agreed - they definitely talk Celts on WEEI. The fact is, like you said, the fans are just more interested in the Sox and Pats. And I'm a fan of all 3 teams, so the Sox and Pats getting more coverage doesn't "make me sick". It just is what it is. The Sox are the top team around here. Deal with it.

Also, i think another reason basketball in general is not covered as much as other sports is sports talk is fueled by rumors, trades, signings, ect.

The problem with the nba is with the strict cap, and the guidlines with trades, other then right before the nba draft and deadline, there isn't much happening, and because teams don't usually have alot of wiggle room under the cap, signings are generally pretty predictable.

Along with that, i've always thought there are too many teams making it into the playoffs, therefore there are very rarely any kind of playoff races besides 1rst and 2nd seeds.

Unfortunately the heading "which team will make it into the number eight seed, crappy team number one, or crappy team number two" is not very appealing.

Basketball is a tricky sport to cover, i think its best discussed on forums like these where we can get into the nitty gritty details of the team that would never be covered on television.

Is anyone else sick of the lack of attention that the station gives the celtics during its radio shows?

Seems like everything they talk about is one of the following three things:

1- Steroids
2- Red Sox (spring training)
3- Patriots (who are in the offseason)

We have two Boston sports teams that are at the top of their respective leagues (midseason) and this is all they talk about...

So, am I the only angered celtics fan?

I feel your pain. The thing is it is not just the hosts of the shows that bring up the topics. It is mostly the ridiculously annoying people that call up the shows. The EEI hosts will generally talk about what the callers want to talk about. Thhe callers more often than not want to regurgitate the same crap that we here about week after week. The only way to get more celtics coverage is for people to call up more with celtics talk

Yeah, that is true. The hosts do talk about what the callers call in to talk about. But you also have to realize that the station controls which callers get through and which dont. Once you call the station, they ask you what you want to talk about for a reason. If it's something they feel is controversial, they might put you on quicker than usual. If it's something boring, they'll put you on hold for a few  hours.

This is all true.
I'm a fan of all three teams, and I'll admit that I've even jumped on the Bruins bandwagon this year even though I don't really watch hockey. But I don't want to listen to redsox talk in the winter when the celtics are playing just like I dont want to listen to celtics talk in August when the Sox are making a playoff push. It's ridiculous and I don't understand the obsossion that the fans and media have with talking about the redsox even when there isn't anything to talk about.
