Mook has expressed his desire to return, saying he loves it in Boston.

Quote
Morris is now coming off one of the best seasons of his career, and he could parlay that into a payday that at least doubles his $5.3 million salary. The question is, where will that be?

“Obviously I love being here in Boston," he said. "I’ve enjoyed it a lot and hopefully I stay here. It’s a great organization, nothing but great for me being able to play on that stage. I’ve enjoyed my time.”

“I felt as though we owed Boston to be better,” Morris said. “They stayed with us through this tough year, and I just felt like we owed them to be better. Me personally, I prepared like no other last year to have a good season to help my team. For us to not be able to make that step, I think that’s what hurts the most.”

It depends on what direction the Celts are headed next season.

If Kyrie stays and the Anthony Davis trade to the Celts finally happens, Morris Sr. will likely stay with Boston.

Celts need his scoring.

Hope he stays for 8-10M per year, he's a really nice rotation forward.

God, I hate Marcus Morris.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Morris was one of the few guys who played this series when the rest were quitting.

I hated Mooks play at times during the regular season I felt like he played for himself and his contract too much. But I loved his play in the playoffs he lifted himself and was team first. Apparently he suggested that Baynes take his place in the starting lineup for game 5. Maybe the security of a longer term contract will stop some of those me-first shoot-first tendencies he had in the regular season. He would be a very useful punch off the bench if he accepted that role.

I hope he comes back. Once we fix our logjam at the top and the pecking order is more established, Mook being one of our role players will be great for us moving forward.

I won't be too upset if Morris is back ... I'm ready to be done with him, mostly because his style of play.  But he seems like the right kind of personality to have on a team that wants to fight and scrap in the playoffs.  He was one of the most consistent players on the team in a year when the team was marked by inconsistency.

I really don't think you can have Marcus Morris on a team that also has Kyrie and Rozier and Tatum, though.  Just too many guys whose instincts lead them to iso for a mid-range jumper.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Despite a big slump during the season, he was one of the most consistent guys on roster in big games. I had a lot of concerns about how he'd handle his role changing, and of course his tendency to play iso ball, but it turns out neither of those fears really manifested--Morris was one of the only guys playing team ball in this series. Passing the ball, staying solid on D, trying to bring some intensity and motivate the other guys on the floor when it looked like most of them had checked out.

I think he's a solid rotation player who seems surprisingly coachable, and if he wants to be here, I want him back.
