71 pts in 3 quarters against an offensive power house
It wasn't a fluke that we did the same against pacers

Doubters can finally shut up now. I was p---ed when they discount the Pacers's defense. Now its blowing up in their face.

Horford is the key to all of it.  His individual defense on Giannis has been incredible.  The play where he blocked Giannis twice in a row says it all.

As I mentioned in the thread “Plan,” their strategy will be to concede offensive rebounds to get back on transition defense. In a half court game, the Bucks can not win. Their best player isnt a half court set guy. I have the Celtics in 6 because there will be a game where Giannis will just do amazing things and there will be another game that we can’t make a bucket.

They know what to do against the Bucks and the Bucks have no answers. If C's had a better first half this would have been a 30 point win.

It is even more impressive with Smart being out. The Cs were all over every loose ball. Even if they didn't have position for a rebound, Morris or Tatum (or whoever) would tip it to a teammate. Al was special today, but the whole team played like a single unit on the defensive end. It was awesome!

Seems about right.  Bucks ain't built for this (playoff basketball).

Our starting unit defense has been elite! That's what it takes to win championships and these guys recognize it.

well if those two things happen in the same game the series will go for Boston in 5.

So far in these playoffs it has been proven, we are a better defensive team without Marcus Smart....Lol. I am waiting for someone to come up with this like they do with claims that we are a better team without Kyrie or Brown or Hayward.

Team is manning up in Smart's absence. Credit to the team and Stevens for what we have seen thus far in these playoffs.

That was chef’s kiss. And the Bucks offensive sets were bad. Either a lot of players bunched up, or spread out and standing around. No slick ballhandlers to crate offense.  Few off-ball actions or pick and roll even.

It’s like when my toddler roams around the house looking for things to break or hurt himself, and when confronted spouts a bunch of nonsense.

How is this for defense? In 20 quarters of playoff play, the Celtics have held their opponents to 21 points or less TEN TIMES.

As far as this series goes, it's only one game, but it's been trending in the right direction and this was the best start to finish defensive performance I've seen from them this season.  They're all buying in and that needs to happen for this team to play to it's potential.

Milwaukee - and Giannis - will adjust, but what we saw today defensively was the best indication that this team might actually have a decent chance of winning the East.
