I was really impressed with Montrezl Harrell during that series, he has really grown as a player since he came into the league.  I was thinking of our rookie Robert Williams while I watched Harrell and thinking that he could grow into a similar player and probably even better.   I think Williams was a better player in college.  I viewed them about the same offensively in collage but I saw Williams as a better defender.  A lot of people were comparing Williams to Clint Capela but I'm thinking that maybe Montrezl Harrell may be a better comparison.  I also think that a taller, more athletic Harrell with killer shot blocking skills would be better than Capela.  Both Harrell and Capela took some time to develop so with time and the NBA strength training Williams should develop into a beast.  I am really excited about what Williams can become and while I'd give him up in a trade for Davis I think moving forward I could see Williams and Davis making a killer front court.  I really think Williams would complement Davis well.

I think that right now and in the near future Robert Williams is going to be a good change of pace type player who you insert in to change the energy of the game. I would love for him to grow into a Montreal Harrell ( who I really liked coming into the league.) type player. Robert Williams would have to develop the aggression that Harrell plays with. If Williams can get that kind of an edge he could be a really useful player and maybe even a starter in the League.

In college, Montrezl always played with intimidating intensity and reportedly worked really hard off the court. So intense that he still runs out of gas if he consistently plays starter's minutes, and he apparently got mad at his Louisville teammates for not working hard enough in practice. Haven't seen anything close to that intensity from Timelord in his limited minutes

I don't see much similarity between the two at all to be honest

TP - I second this. I was a Harrell fan early on and thought he might even be a good pick where Rozier was selected. When he was available at 28, I was ecstatic! But, we chose RJ instead...

I think Williams can be a good player, but he’ll never have that level of intensity. It’s just not in his nature.

Harrell reminds me of Ben Wallace.

I don't quite think so. Harrell is solid defensively, but doesn't offer much rim protection. That's what RWill is best at.

Harrell is also one of the strongest and most aggressive rollers in the league. Williams hasn't shown that ability yet.

I don't know if Williams will ever be the offensive threat Harrell is, but defensively Williams should be better.

The Celtics are not using Williams correctly. They need to STOP THROWING LOBS to him. It looks good on Sportscenter, but half the time it does not work and ends up with the other team shooting a layup because of bad floor balance.
I would use Williams like Dennis Rodman. I would tell him to go for rebounds and defend.

His motor isn't as high. I don't see the resemblance honestly.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Honestly Rodman isn’t Williams game neither, he doesn’t get boards like that. He is a defensive guy who is working on a face up offense instead of back for the basket game. This isn’t a bad thing as AD showed me what a deadly mid range could look like but if you are looking for boards TL is not your man unless he himself makes a drastic change in how he plays.

Now what I’ll also say is HE IS NOT A PICK AND ROLL GUY. Hes too good of a passer to be a pick and roll guy. As long as they continue to make him a pick and roll player he’ll fail.

Williams is probably better passer than both Tatum and Rozier. I'd say let him handle the rock if the situation required and run some plays.

Timelord could use some extension of his range. We've seen him practicing shooting 3s during shoot around. His pick and roll defense need some works too. It would be a waste if he doesn't develop any awareness how to defend this play.

for TL to be compared to MH would he not have to get on the court? You do no get to be compared to one of the highest motor guys in the league when your coach does not play you, right?

Right now TL's game can be compared to James Young. They both spent a lot of time on the bench.

By the way, you mean MH was available when Danny reached for Hunter??? WOW!!!!

I think at the same stage of their careers the comparison can be interesting.

Obviously both barely got off the bench, but the differences in their game is evident. Defence and rebounding is almost incomparable, but Montrezl scored more and got more assists.

We also reached on Rozier ahead of his college teammate Montrezl :(

Revisionist history. At the time RJ Hunter was actually thought of as a major steal for the tail-end of the first round.
