So whether you are a long time member of CelticsBlog or CelticsStrong or just someone who has come to know this site recently, most likely you have wandered into a Celtics game thread at some point. CelticsStrong is blessed to have one of the most dedicated and passionate fans, FLCeltsFan, that has given her love of the Celtics to all of us through her game threads.
She has been doing these threads for as long as I can remember it. 82 regular season games plus preseason and playoffs games, every game for years, she has tirelessly given of herself to this blog for all our enjoyment. She is simply amazing.
And I should know.
Last year, FLCeltsFan was devastated as Hurricane Michael hit Florida and basically wiped out the area of Florida where FLCF lived. She was lucky, she says. Her house still stood though majorly damaged. Others weren't so lucky.
When we heard here at CelticsStrong we did what we could for her and I volunteered to do her game threads until she was able to take over. She was relieved that they would be done. So I did them.
But, bless FLCF, they aren't easy and took me about 1-2 hours to get one of those threads done, to the point where I thought I at least would make FLCF proud. Doing these games threads for every game is no small endeavor. The research, ability to accent the thread with pictures, and going through matchups and so forth, was time consuming. I can't imagine doing it every game for years and years.
After months without power and electric, FLCF, told me she would be taking back over and thanked me. She told me one of the biggest worries on her mind was that the game threads get done and was glad I could do it. Today, she asked if I could do the game thread for Game 2 because she might not be able to do it and once again let me know how much getting a game thread done for everybody was important to her.
I can't get over her. Admiration is too weak a word. FLCF went without power and cable/internet for months. She had a hole in her roof for 5 months. Her neighborhood lies in ruins with huge piles of wrecked homes still needing to be cleaned up. The government has forgotten what has happened there and the area is still in massive ruins with stores closing everywhere.
But, she worries about making sure her fellow members of CelticsBlog/CelticsStrong have their game threads to enjoy.
We are lucky to have a treasure like FLCeltsFan.
