Man, I can't believe I picked Toronto to come out of the East after all the trash I've talked about them but with the addition of Gasol and Siakam's huge leap this year nobody else seems quite ready unless we can put it together.

Toronto is safest pick to come out of the East they basically rested everyone 15+ games and still won 58 pretty easily... Kawhi is a different animal in the playoffs.

Looks like it's your usual 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 semi finals. No dogs advanced into the next round.

East

Raptors over Sixers in 5 games. Short series.
Celtics over Bucks in 6 or 7 games. Long series.

West

Warriors over Rockets in 6 games.
Nuggets over Blazers in 6 games.

The Blazers surprised me. I thought they would be dead in the water without Nurkic. They did well to beat OKC but I don't think they will last another round. I would favoured either Denver or SAS in a series against Portland.

The Warriors are more vulnerable than ever. I do think they there is a good chance they lose at some point in the playoffs and I have never thought that before (with Durant there). I am not convinced Houston is the team to do it though. I don't trust D'Antoni or Harden in big playoff series.

3 close series which is good news.
1 lopsided series = Toronto over Philly.

My only real hang up is Curry's health.  If he isn't 100% (or near it), then I think the Warriors will lose any of their last few series.
so re-evaluating.  With Embiid being banged up I'm switching to Toronto over Philly.  I do think it will go 7.  Still going Milwaukee over Boston in 5.  I think Denver beats Portland in 7.  And because of the injuries to Curry and Thompson, I'm switching to Houston in 6 instead of GS in 7.  I think Milwaukee beats Toronto in 7 and Houston beats Denver in 6.  Milwaukee beats Houston in 7 to win the title.

Raptors are gonna destroy Philly and spit them out . I don't like Phillys makeup of players .  They need less talent and more energy Marcus Smart types blue collar .

If Celtics get ONE away victory the thing will go 6-7 easy.

Embiid was banged up when you made your original prediction. You’ll need to come up with a better excuse for making that prediction LOL.

agreed.  Embiid's condition isn't a surprise.  just buyer's remorse showing through

I love how in a celtics forum some fans have more faith in the sixers than the C's  :-X

He looked much worse against the Nets than I thought he would.  I thought the Sixers were playing a bit of possum with him at the end of the year i.e. giving him more rest than he really needed, but he was far more injured than I thought.

Same reason I swapped Golden State/Houston.  Curry is far more banged up then I thought he was going to be.  Plus, they also lost Cousins and Thompson is now banged up.

How players look should absolutely affect how you view a series.

I think sadly that might be the way it is with Embiid....last year they played him too many minutes and it showed as he got burned out in the celtics series and they were dispatched. Now this year, same thing and he is injured during the most important time of the year...the playoffs.

sixers might seriously need to start thinking about resting Embiid certain games and having him on a time restriction the whole season next year. Not the ideal situation you want for your star, but his body is failing him from the minutes that he has played.

either way, I fully expect philly to win game 2 and make a series out of this. You cant over-react to one game. Look at the first round. Even after some early upsets most of the teams whom were expected to win...did.

Philly is going down in 5..they have no one to stop Kawhi and Siakam is developing like a Kawhi clone.. Goodness me he is getting confident every single game makes me think if they are even gonna even lose another game since losing to the Magic.

The only lose end in the Raptors is Lowry..Gasol has definitely helped them as well.. No way Philly beats a healthy Raptor squad.

I'm thinking Denver in 6 over Portland. I think Portland caught an OKC team that was not focused and had lost its identity. On the other side, Denver, with a lot of guys playing their first playoff games ever, ran into the Pop machine.

I think Denver is going to be better in this round and Portland is going to fall back to Earth a little bit.
