Guys going from all-star/high level starter athleticism to role playing veterans who had to move down a position to hang defensively.

Yuck.

I mean, Wes Matthews, at 32, still moves like he's in top shape after an Achilles Tear.

And he can still put up a game winning putback.

And so does Rudy Gay.

I just think if these guys can put up games like these, after their Achilles tears, there's a lot of room for optimism that Kevin Durant will come back from it as well.
Weird, how Wes Mathews went from a career 114 ORTG borderline star to a 105 ORTG backup afterwards. From a top tier defensive player, to a passable one.

Weird how Rudy Gay was a dynamic athlete and scorer and now is more a plodding deliberate guy, without the same bounce. Now his decline is mitigated by the fact that now he shoots less long jumpers and takes more threes. But that decline is still there physically, he just improved his approach to the game to his immense credit.

Highlights are fun, they don't mean a player recovered. Hayward had some cool highlights this season after all.

It was bush league when the Toronto fans were cheering Durant's injury. I know the players were p---ed to hear it, and I wonder if it was added fuel for the Golden State guys.
It definitely wasn't cool, but the fans thought they were cheering about a flareup of calf soreness.  Not quite the same thing as cheering for an actual injury such as a torn achilles tendon.

I don't think that POV makes it better.

You really don't know WHAT the exact injury is when you cheer for one live, its just scummy.

Yeah, it's not a good look, but I am sure they just thought he pulled something. Everybody is guilty of this to some extent. If it were something as gruesome as the Hayward injury, I am sure it would have been quite different.

I can't speak to everybody in Toronto, but I have spent several months in the city over the years and the people are truly some of the nicest I have ever met - much nicer than anywhere in the states. It seems to me that the excitement of winning their 1st championship likely got the better of them before realizing just how wrong they were.

Great series
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

So, what are people thinking about this series with regard to Durant? Would Toronto winning tonight make Durant more likely to stay by giving him some validation of his starring role on this team? Would GS winning without him actually be better, given his injury now and his likely need to have more help moving forward?

I think Toronto winning probably does potentially benefit us more by maybe making it more likely that he stays in GS. I think that because Durant leaving now seems to be much more difficult for him to do given the injury, as he knows he'll never be the same and will likely need more help moving forward. That's a much more difficult decision to pick everything up now and restart on a new team given this injury, as not only is he out all of next year but the year after that he probably doesn't get to his new 100% until the end of the year. I think that's a difficult decision to make in this context, especially with all of the uncertainty that comes with new team building.

I’ve definitely gained some respect back for the Warriors team in these last two series. They’ve showed a lot of heart with the injuries. I’m sure that KD being out has made them easier to like after his cowardly decision lol

Klay out

Man, if Curry can will this team to victory tonight...

Mark Jackson had a good point though - I wonder if Klay would be playing if not for what happened to KD the other night.

He went from jumping up and down in the locker room to leaving on crutches...yeah, that is terrible.

The Raptors are like the luckiest team ever in regards to the Warriors injuries. Lebron must be like,  Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.?!
