So I couldn't help but notice how pumped up Kyrie was on the sidelines in the 4th quarter last night.  The last 2 games he's actually had help, especially from Gordo, Tatum and Al, and in the 4th after we had pretty much locked up the game (and even before), I noticed he was extremely, extremely enthusiastic on the sidelines.  I wouldn't expect him to be indifferent even if he did plan to leave, but that was my favorite thing about the W last night.  It looked to me like he really wants this to work.

Did anyone else notice this?  I read into things all the time and like to speculate on this board, it's fun, but he really seemed to be enjoying himself like a child almost.  It made me think he's looking for a reason to stay, not looking for an excuse to justify leaving.  Thoughts?  Am I crazy?
Kyrie has been FAR more supportive of his teammates this season than a lot of people think, but yeah... last night was another example of him being an excellent teammate and leader.

For all of the criticism of Kyrie being selfish or things of that nature, he seems like he's as excited as anyone on the team to celebrate someone else's success. If he just didn't say weird things to the media, and all we had to go on was his on-court demeanor, we'd be talking about he's always the first one to help a teammate up off the floor, how much more he's hustling this season, and how excited he is for his teammates.

This is a very good summation of Kyrie. He is really not as smart as he thinks he is. Maybe going to Duke gave him that 'I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night' complex.

As long as he performs on the court & isn't an issue with teammates, who cares?

And, the end of the day, did it really do much?  That seemed to be so overblown by the media & some Celticsstrongers.

There hasn't been an implosion yet.  The team's still playoff bound.   The world hasn't ended.

Beyond that, most of the "weird things he says to the media" are taken out of context.  The flat earth stuff is genuinely crappy, but anything he's said related to the team and his free agency has been defensible.

I thought he showed some real leadership and I feel a little better about him staying when I see him like that.

And Marcus Smart backed him up. That always gets glossed over.

I think it says more about fans who aren't as perceptive as they think they are. If one can't get passed a comment to see that yes, he always one of the first guys to get on the floor for a loose ball or run over to help a teammate up, then that's a "fan" issue.

This idea that these guys aren't supposed to have personalities and are supposed to just tap dance for fans is odd.
